Yahoo! Mailbox: The Purple People Greeter

Did you see a talking mailbox in your city? Check out this video of the Yahoo! Mailbox, affectionately dubbed The Yahoo! Purple People Greeter, as he makes his way across the country. Celebrating the launch of the latest version of Yahoo! Mail, our purple friend stood on street corners in Brooklyn and Manhattan, doling out personalized gifts to Yahoo! Mail fans. What did they get? It depends on who they were! A grad student got an iPad, a musician got a harmonica, a pet owner got a dog bone. And that’s not all! In Austin, The Yahoo! Purple People Greeter rocked out at Emo’s and tried (unsuccessfully) to crowd surf during a performance by Futurebirds. He ultimately landed in San Francisco where he arrived just in time to fuel Giants playoff fever with many sets of tickets to the World Series champs’ final games of the season.  The Yahoo! Mail team appreciates our loyal Yahoo! Mail users, and the Purple People Greeter was just one way for us to show you.
