Spruce up your Mail with Liam stationery

As a kid I was always flummoxed by the idea that the word used to represent immobility was also used to describe the fancy paper used for messages that are inherently mobile.

Perhaps if I had paid more attention to the fact that they were spelled differently it might not have baffled me so. But in my defense…how often do you ever really write the word “stationery?”

I may have spent several occasions sitting stationary while writing on stationery…but I can’t recall a single time I wrote the word stationery (that was fun).

Anyway, it wasn’t too long ago that only Plus users could incorporate stationery into their Yahoo! Mail messages.

Well, not any more. Everyone using the All-New Yahoo! Mail not only has the option to add designs from one of 8 standard categories, but also from a featured section that surfaces several Liam related options that are sprinkled throughout the original categories.

Have a look the options, and if you have any questions you can check out the details in Yahoo! Help for guidance.

Can you please make it so that when I compose a message in plain text the stationary bar is not displayed?

Would be about time to add a plus value to Yahoo! Mail Plus subscribers…. ad removal can be achieved by a mere userscript….

WOW! I’m impressed…well worth the wait for stationary. Some of them are really wonderful. Thank you Ryan. You and your team really out-did themselves. Those are really fun backgrounds to meet any mood with a nice amount of choices.
I may be on my way to getting rid of Incredimail……

Ryan: Is there any way to find out just how much space one is using in their Yahoo mailbox?

I know it’s unlimited, but am curious to know.. :)

John,

I don’t think there is any formal way to do that.

I’d really like for y’all to focus on issues that are critical, such as mail search. Why can I still not search for all of my flagged messages? (No other keywords, just flagged messages). The one area that GMail has you beat is search. You would think that this would be easy for Yahoo to implement. Even desktop programs (Outlook, OSX Mail, etc.) allow for something this simple.

I THINK PEGGY NEEDS GRAMMAR LESSONS! WHAT GRADE ARE YOU IN? “YOUR” INDICATES POSSESSION – MEANING IT BELONGS TO YOU. YOU’RE MEANS “YOU ARE.” DOES THAT MAKE SENSE??

Ryan: The word for something that’s fixed is “stationary.”
The word for writing paper is “stationery.”
Even though they are pronounced identically, they’re two different words.

How taking a look at Incredimail and implementing something from them like animated emoticons and much, much more stationaries. And head over to Gmail and take a look at the themes they have now incorporated in their emails program and add that to yahoo and maybe I’ll use the yahoo email application instead of using gmail and incredimail.

When I use one of the Liam CROWD SURFING stationery, each new note begins in a color different from my preferred color of black. Seems like a bug in stationery function.

I would like to be able to interact with others through a regular blog such as this one juxt like they do on the My Space web site. This is about as close as they come. Actually this is the first time I have seen a blog format on Yahoo. Can you expand the use of it the blog system.

I would like to see more stationary done. When you were first starting to allow us to be able to use some stationary in the emails it seemed that it came out on my screen but when ever the person I sent the reply to got their email it showed no stationary on their mail. It was just out plain. When they tried to send me a response it came back plain instead of stationary being used. Has there been some changes? I have not used my computer for awhile and just now starting to use it again, So I would be interesed in all the changes going on.

Why cant Yahoo changer there free stationery papers at least once a week? And why cant there be more to choose from than the ones that is already there that are free? Like have more of a selection. Like clouds or flowers colors alots of different colors and not just the plain ones either. I always see the same thing every time I go to the free stationery paper I just wish there was a lot more to choose from the ones that is already there add a lot more groups of things. Like dogs or if I want to send a e mail to my grandchildren a selection for them. I just wish there was a lot more to choose from.

I agree with the comments on having more options for the stationery. Less cute. For my business I was able to find a couple of backgrounds that got alot of feedback and increased response. Great Job to Yahoo! What has the feedback been on this topic? Is work being done to expand the options or is it lower priority?

It would be wonderful if we could create our own in Photoshop or whatever to use. Is that ability coming any time soon? If not, some designs that are appeal more to business instead of “cute” would be great! What about simple headers or footers?
