If you’ve heard of Hack Day before, you probably know that hack days are usually just for Yahoo! employees. But this time the event is a wide open, public hack day where people with a passion for Yahoo! products can come together to build and share their best ideas for extending, re-shaping and mashing together our products and features. If you are interested in particpating you can still sign-up for a Hack Day invitation by visiting http://www.hackday.org.

hello
I’ve sent a few emails earlier today (lets say around Noonish), with a cc to myself. Unfortuantely, these emails haven’t appeared in my INBOX.
I decided to send a few test emails to myself from myself. The very small test emails (subject of “test” and body of “test”) came through quickly. The test emails which were lengthy (i.e. a copy and paste of my original email mentioned above) did NOT come through. Full disclosure – I did use bold and underline, so I guess it’s HTML as oppossed to a text format. I should also mention this is a “free” Yahoo mail account.
Anyhow, is there a bigger issue happening today, or should I be concerned?
Hi
hello…i just wanted to know when are they going to use more colors for the yahoo email options? the colors most of them are ew..lol a suggestion would be to have a color wheel and make your own custom colors..:p
hi,only i want come here….
Yahoo SUCKS,Yahoo SUCKS,Yahoo SUCKS,Yahoo SUCKS,Yahoo SUCKS,Yahoo SUCKS,Yahoo SUCKS,Gmail RULES,Gmail RULES,Gmail RULES,Gmail RULES,Gmail RULES,Gmail RULES
well excuse me yahoo mail sucks and the only thing that makes them good is the i.m client. Gmail rulez and they support aim to
So does “Hack Day” include actions like “HACKING” Sara Palins email account? Or is that just because Yahoo is incompetent?
Just how incompetent are you anyway?
I hope you lose your shirt in customers. Gee I should tell the secret Service about your HACK DAY I wonder if they would be interested. Hmmmmmmmm.
Sending an email to a list from the address book doesn’t give the same confirmation (list of recipients) as sending to an explicit email address. I sent screenshots to Y! Help and was rewarded with boilerplate replies (can’t reproduce, everything’s ok) that only an idiot would deserve.
Is this the reason why all of my contacts have disappeared!
Why all of my contacts have been spammed with weblinks to fake iphones and other seemingly imitation equipment!
This was my business email!
Whats with the r..o..l..e…x and r..e.p…l..i.c..a spam ads that find its way to my inbox instead of the spam folder every day? Everyday I report it as spam and the next day it still finds its way to my inbox. I think it comes from a yahoo mail user sent to millions of yahoo addresses. You can’t even block it because of the periods that change ex. r then 2 peroids then o with 2 periods etc. Can’t yahoo mail stop these spammers cold?
We had this happen also. Getting nowhere with Yahoo customer service!!!
I cannot get into my email. This started happening last night, and still cannot access my acct. What is up ?
Does this mean that Yahoo Mail! has finally given the user control over the trash? If so, hooray!
If not, then please tell the Yahoo people in charge of the trash to empty only messages older than 30 days. It is a great feature of that mail service that starts with a G.
I’d like to throw out messages that I know I won’t need a few months from now, to help make it easier to find stuff I WILL want to see later.
But now I don’t because I never know when Yahoo will throw out the trash, even a message I put in a few hours ago.
Result — mail box clutter.
Please improve this if it hasn’t been done yet.
Help…this Spam is driving me crazy. Yahoo only allows 500 addresses to be blocked, well we get that many in our inbox per day..we have used up the allotted 500 address blockers, what do I do next. I open my inbox in the morning and I have 150 – 200 e-mails, 90% of them are spam. I think with a business account, I should be able to block more than 500 addresses.
Hi Maurice,
Happy to pass along the feedback on POP. I have a Plus account and had been using Mac Mail, but have found that I’m getting really used to Zimbra as my desktop client for aggregating all of my activity to one place.
Out of curiosity (and because I find that I do this too) why do you feel compelled to empty your trash frequently. We get unlimited storage, so the only real benefit is removing that little number next to the trash can.
-Ryan
Thanks for the feedback Reza. We are examining all sorts of options to enable greater access options for users, but can’t provide much along the lines of details right now.
One option would be to try the new Zimbra desktop client, which incorporates free IMAP for all Yahoo! users.
-Ryan
Yo go Maurice, tell ‘em. I agree with both of the things you said.
I love Yahoo Mail but two things bug the heck out of me. First, why does it always make me confirm that I want to empty my trash folder? If I click on “empty” that means I want to do it and I really don’t need a popup asking me to confirm my action. Get rid of it, and let me just do what I want to do without confirmation (its almost as bad as the UAC popup in Vista). Second, I totally support the person who said that POP forwarding should be free. I use a Mac and would love to be able to use Apple Mail as my main mail program but I cannot use it for getting my Yahoo mail. Come on guys, lighten up and get in step with the times.

Hello There,
I have been on hold with Yahoo! for two hours now. I am desperate to speak with someone who knows what they are talking about and cares about me as a person. I have been locked out of my account since Friday and even though i have complied fully with all requests I am getting the run around. Can you help, please??? Or give me the name of someone who can?? I am a social worker and have vital kid info I need to get to in my account. I would say email me at my Yahoo! account but as that is locked you will have to email me through my blog. Please help!!!!
Reza I’ve got Yahoo mail, and I have Gmail also for free. But one thing I will tell you, Yahoo provides better service than Gmail, in all aspects, such as mailing and advertisings and the entire set up as they are presents their lynks and its homepage is easy to manage.
hello yahoo, good day…
i have a question (i had it for 2 years!), you are one of the biggest mail clients in the internet, and surely you dont want to lose your grade, but i dont understand that why we still should pay to you for some of your services like POP & forwarding, your other rivals are free in these cases (like gmail)
i am a super fan of yahoo but i think that in the future free services of gmail will make you be the second… please just tell me why, i want to hear it from you, yahoo!! :))
thanks a lot, and sorry for bad english…
