When a newuser signs up, the defaults should do everything to hide their ID, email address, profile, etc. Hasn’t the enormous amount spent combatting spam and the Palin hacking taught yahoo anything yet?

Yes, in my opinion, yahoo has privacy, identity, and security defaults often backwards. The ID, profile, etc. should all be private and unlisted as default.

I created an account for my Mom, and I actually set it up as a plus account, I was going to send !yahoo $20 a year so my mum could have disposable addresses. But within an hour of creating it, I got spam to the sign in id accout. I canceled the whole thing in disgust. There must be spammers constantly looking for new users.
