Where’s Matt? He’s with Liam (and me, and Jerry, and more)!

Believe it or not this was a total coincidence. Shorty after I posted about having seen the Where the Hell is Matt? video (and thus requesting your photo submissions showcasing where you use Yahoo! Mail) we were informed by the Yodel editor that Matt was going to make a speaking appearance at our main campus.

What many on campus DIDN’T know was that when he wasn’t spending that hour speaking he was actually being dragged all over campus to shoot scenes with various Yahoos. If you look really closely at the Mail team clip (0:55, pause if you need to) you will see a contemplative Liam in the center, with Matt just to the left and me wearing a hat just a little further to the left. If you look closely you can also see Mark, the anti-spam Czar.

The video is over on Yodel, so be sure to check it out!

Don’t these people know that there are accesses hidden throughout Yahoo to get the right answers. They just don’t know where to look. So you folks take a coffee break every now and again. Well, who doesn’t. I feel like a Yahoo shill. tee hee

  3. crabtreebe1 says:

MOVE. We don’t need you, anyone that thinks purple sucks is alittle slanted. This one doesn’t understand the brilliance of Yahoo Answers, microsoft rejects my behind. Go ahead and reactivate my gmail account. We don’t want people who just don’t get it. Check the left column of available services at gmail. Or have you even looked at the table of contents within Yahoo? Support? The 2nd Time? Learn your way around the wonderful world of Yahoo or go crying back to gmail. You might just be looking for free services anywhere you can find them. Try Hotmail too, or did they reject you?

These are lame comments. As the #1 fan that might have pulled Matt out of the control room, maybe I can do the same for you Ryan. Where’s the purple in this font? Get Liam right on that. The poor comment re: Liams death, but we won’t let him go. Not yet, eh Ryan? Everytime I turn around I’m seeing a group of crazed creativatars dancing some jig, and should you consider merging with anyone, forget it. Not one company out there that could tolerate your creative madness. So to all you creativatars (give me credit for new word) keep the purple coming. And coming, and coming. And send Clarence Lee to deliver me some personally!

What the hell happened to yahoo? They removed the option to forward AS attachment OR inline text. I NEED BOTH!

I have gone around and around with their so called support.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY DID THIS.
After weeks of circles the first time they fixed it and put it back the way it was. NOW all they do is tell me how they “value my opinion” but the only way I can leave one is on this STUPID BLOG?????

So here. My opinion. YAHOO SUCKS! I am looking to move.

What did they do? Hire microsoft rejects to work in “support?”
    PHOEY!
Maybe it’s time to reactivate my old gmail account.

Nice job yahoo. I’m TOTALLY disgusted!

Yes, POP access to mail servers is still inconsistent, due to timeout setting being too short, it seems. Please triple (or more!) the timeout setting. There needs to be enough time to let the operation (getting 2,000 or more messages from external server into Y! Mail Plus) complete, before giving an error message. (Y! has limited capacity. Have patience, Howard!)

    Hi Howard,

I’ll run this up the flagpole and see what info I can find.

Ryan – I don’t what other forum to reach you on this issue – but just like last February – there has been a slowdown of mail going through the POP/SMTP – and just like last time – when I call Yahoo they insist there is no issue. Is this “deja vu all over again”. I find I can usually get more straight answers here than from folks on the phone.

  21. L says:

Sorry to hijack this comment thread, but where do I go to find out the status of Yahoo Mail bugs? I submitted a web form about Yahoo Mail Search being broken (apparently it has been for months) and the reply said check this blog “for more information about our Yahoo! Mail product updates, new releases and bug fixes.”

  22. Ryan says:

    Thanks J.D.,

I’ll be sure to pass your comment around :)
