Up to today 22nd. Oct. For about a week and a half now Yahoo mail and uploading of pages has been so slow as to be unusable. I have not had problems before for several years. Nothing has been changed and everthing else works fine. I use a Virgin Media broadband connection and my postcode is xxxxxxx.

I’m sorry to hear about your problems. We’ve been receiving reports from other Virgin Media customers that cannot access Yahoo sites. The problem is with Virgin Media/NTL. We’ve been in contact with them, but unfortunately we can’t fix it. The Virgin Media reference number is F820104, if you want to give them a call.

What is going on?! Yahoo! Mail seems to be grinding to a HALT…it has been so slow lately – for at least 2 weeks. It takes for ever to load the mail…when I select one to read, it hangs for ever. I have tried in Firefox, Google Chrome (the best response) and Internet Explorer (worst response) browsers.

I have broadband internet (2Mbps – not huge, but adequate) and all other web mails I use…Googlemail, Hotmail…. are perfectly fine and fast.

Can someone at Yahoo! Mail please crank up your servers!

Why have a fast mail when one is unable to access it.? How come other servers can provide the service that you are unable to supply.
Access to emails are essential to business and to have to supply a cc mail address is not a favourable business practice.

Is anyone else suffereing very slow operation of Yahoo mail on: start up; opening emails; accessing folders; and the system refusing to attach files? This has plagued me for a week now. Yahoo ‘Help’ has not responded to my requests for assistance. I have a perfectly functioning machine on a qenuine 10Mb broadband cable. Everything else is fine – including Hotmail and Outlook with a professionally supported email.

Please advise if you know the answer.

NOW will you PLEASE make the Spam Guard WORK… it may as well not be switched on (which it is) if it is as awful as it is.

I used to think yahoo mail was the BEST.. I am not happy at all with it now for that one reason.. the Spam Filter is useless. Is it that you have devalued the free service in the hope folk will upgrade to the paying one? Is that any better??

PLEASE… a Spam Guard that WORKS would be really helpful.

I love the plain text approach to quoting which you can intersperse with your own comments. Please keep this if only as an option.

Spam filter is not that great – a good few get through every day even after months of bayesing it.

Groups are still a pain to manage with the classic interface – too clunky to be useable I’m afraid.

Going to the Yahoo.co.uk page does crash my browser, Firefox 3.0.1…
As I could not login to my Yahoo Mail account, I am now using Opera 9.27, but with this combination I have no logout, settings and other options in the menu as I normally did have in the Yahoo classic setting as used.

I have been using Yahoo Mail since ‘99, but now sort of only keep it alive and are in several Yahoo Groups.
I also use the Yahoo Mail account when I don’t want to give another e-mail address; after all, my Yahoo Mail account is spam all over… In general everytime I go and have a look, I do have at least several spam in the Inbox in stead of all the spam being in the Bulk/Spam box.

With all the banner crap, combined with companies like Doubleclick and resulting 3th party cookies, I think Yahoo has gone down quite a lot.
Definitely no longer my prefered online mail account anymore.

So glsd Yahoo! employees have time to crow. Last night this page would not load (I tried 10 times). This morning it took over two minutes.
Perhaps the hamster in the pic is tired and you should field a substitute: or maybe he needs a new wheel. In any case the picture chosen to illustrate the new ’speedier’ sertvice is unfortunate though in many ways totally appropriate.
Since I used a football metaphor earlier, would it be possible to keep the team pages for news about that team. I have complained before, but it never makes a difference. Perhaps your pet hamster should learn to read!
