Making Yahoo! Mail Go Faster

Just a quickie (in more ways than one)…
We never stop reading your feedback and we couldn’t help notice that some of you were concerned about the speed Yahoo! Mail at times. We passed it onto our engineers, here’s what they did about it…
Installed *brand new hardware* with *double the performance memory* and *double the processing power*
…all of which mean a faster Yahoo! Mail for you. And please note, when we refer to “memory” we’re not talking about the storage space for messages (that’s unlimited, remember). We’re talking about the memory on the hardware at Yahoo! HQ. The more there is, the faster Yahoo! Mail can perform for you.
Here’s what the improvements look like in graphical form – Green is good!!!

The work’s just been completed so now you can tackle your email with even greater speed and efficiency than before.
And don’t worry, we’re not resting on our laurels – speed and performance are something we’re committed to optimising on an ongoing basis.
Happy emailing
Andrew – Yahoo! Mail Team
P.S. – I hope that you enjoyed this post. There’s lot’s of other great information on this blog, so make sure you come back often to read about all the latest updates, tips and useful information about Yahoo! Mail.

I have tried other email sites but I much prefer my yahoo email
June 6th, 2008 at 8:26 am
Yahoo is the Best Webmail service ever! I’ve been working with Windows Live and MSN and they have always problems. Great Stuff Guys. Thanks!
June 6th, 2008 at 8:30 am
If your fix works and email really is speeded up, that’s a great step forward. Thank you.
June 6th, 2008 at 9:15 am
You might have made emailing faster with the changes you have made but I do not like the fact that the option not to include the email you are replying to in the reply is no longer there
June 6th, 2008 at 9:53 am
Dear Sir /Madam:
Hi!
I feel that it is a bit harsh to say your service was slow, however it is always good to review and improve under all circumistances.
I appreciate your service a great deal.
I hope that you are here to stay, services rendered at the very least.
Kindest regards,
Yours sincerely

Excellent news.
June 6th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Thanks for this! Indeed had noticed that things were slowed down, good to see that feedback is heard.
Speaking of feedback…a suggestion to connect mail with calendar…
It would be good to be able to FLAG a message for follow up, and have the option to set up a REMINDER in the calendar. Otherwise the flagged message dissapears in my Inbox and I never remember that I flagged it!
thanks!

Yahoo is like a trusted, true and reliable friend, like the friends that are taken for granted, making things accessible and easy, always there providing support and ideas whenever life needs making easier.
I have used Yahoo for 10 years and I can state for the record that it is the highest accessible design and innovation principals in partnership with great communication and customer service that make Yahoo stand out from the rest.
I have found Yahoo quite simply exemplar in every aspect, from its ongoing development, ease of use and outstanding customer service.
Thank You Yahoo.

June 6th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
Much quicker, Now well ahead of competitors Thank you!
June 8th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
Yes, YAHOO! has been a little slow at times, so slow in fact that sometimes I have had to disconnect and try again later.
However when it is good it is very good, I have always put the speed, or lack of it down to the amount of users online at that time rather than blaming YAHOO!

I have just learned how to use \Email at night school and I think it is amazing very quick Earl
June 14th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
not noticed any difference. In fact over the last 4 weeks performance has got worse. I keep getting the message “Unexpected HTTP status code 12152″.
June 15th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Generally the speed is good, but there are still many occasions when one gets the most annoying message “you’ve been waiting for 1234.56789 seconds for your message tocome in” when it may have been only a couple of seconds, or 20 seconds or a minute of repeated trying, and never 5 decimal places ! Is it possible to remove this ??
Otherwise I am very happy with yahoo and thank you very much- nothing else in the world is as usueful and so free!!
June 27th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Iv had this email for many years (as you all read know )… and its still the best on the net bar none…always will be… here is to the next 10 years….Thanks Yahoo , Paul / jen ..market rasen lincs uk.
June 27th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Good stuff guys, Yahoo is d best!!
June 27th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
I thank God for yahoo site, you are the best. You think about others, that is what makes you the best, and you will remain the best. God bless yahoo. God bless us all in jesus name; Amen.
June 27th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
no email site is beta than yahoo its great never down
June 27th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Yahoo!! is the BEST Always.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
I’ve been using yahoo for over 10 years now and ive recently tried using another site but its no way near as good!
So i just want to say YAHOO! is the greatest!!!
June 27th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
The way to make yahoo mail faster would be to make the ads load faster, I understand there has to be advertising but its annoying when my mail is ready to go and I am just sitting there waiting for an ad to load before I can do anything.
June 27th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
I agree with previous comments — I prefer yahoo to any other email service. When are you going broadband?!!
June 27th, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Yahoo mail is good when it actually works unlike the other day when it was down all day, just could not open my mail and was so slow.I do use Yahoo mail more then the other mail providers I have though.
June 27th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
Yahoo! email is faster – that’s great, but please make some improvements on the Spam Filter… I’m getting tons and tons of spam and I don’t even give out my email to anyone…
June 27th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
nice work guys and gals!
June 28th, 2008 at 2:24 am
Never mind it being faster, how about sorting out the real problem’s? I’m sick of getting everyone else’s e-mails? there not even address to my e-mail and I still get them?…now you have made it faster, I only hope my finger can go just as fast on the delete button
June 28th, 2008 at 9:25 am
A lot of improvements lately and these are great news!! I experienced some problems with incoming mailing sometime ago. There was a delay up to one day for some certain locations but lately everything is in better shape!Of course YAHOO mail is the BEST and our expectations are as high as to be PERFECT!
June 28th, 2008 at 9:45 am
There have been some problems, but on the whole Yahoo is most adequate. Any improvement that works is good, and normally they do work. Thanks
June 28th, 2008 at 11:35 am
all the years i’ve used yahoo never had a problem with speed the only difference i find is that its got more alternatives now than it had, it maybe quicker to those who use other emailing services but as long as i’m with yahoo i’ll always think its fast,
the best service always YAHOOoooooo…….
June 28th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Over the past month I have found Yahoo to be getting closer and slower, sometimes I cannot even raise the web site abd give up – very disappointed.
June 28th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Yahoo messenger is excellent in keeping intouch with our sprerad family But Yahoo mail recently the load is very slow but I still find Yahoo the easiest to use and would reccomend it to all
June 28th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Yup, it was getting too slow at times. It is good that it is back to normal, phew ! Thanks, Yahoo ! This also shows that the suggestions from the users are valuable, and Yahoo should provide an easy-to-reach email for these valuable inputs. Finally, may I request that the next urgent action is to improve the SPAM filter as I still have to clear spam emails everyday. Cheers, and well done.
June 28th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
its good to use yahoo mail it is faster and support more contacts to send mail at the same time..
June 28th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
I have two email accounts, one with yahoo and one with Sky. Marks out of ten? Yahoo 9.8, Sky 4.5
Sky is slow, as in snail’s pace, and is not user-friendly at all – keep up the good work, Yahoo, you’re still No.1
June 28th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
wish I could e-mail photos the way you used to be able to with the upload tool on the old yahoo that was great now I can only email 3 or 4 at a time unless I use flikr
June 28th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Without any doubt, yahoo mail is actually the best amog others. Thanks to yahoo but a meaningful hard work is still required to retain this position.
June 28th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
Well Yahoo……..I am really impressed a giant company taking note of what the customer wants,I am pleased that I was obviously not the only one who felt that Yahoo mail was very slow to load, you did something about it great I dont understand the technical bit but I will say that there has been an improvement,so filling out a survey is not always a waste of time.
June 28th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
I have noticed when i email it comes up mail seems to be taking longer to load if it is going to improve it great
June 29th, 2008 at 4:00 am
before there was a draft folder..,in that v can save some draft which is i use to sent repetedly..,whenever i want i use to open draft mesg and i wil sent easily..but i mesg remaining the mail wil be in draft folder.., but now the yahoo mail.., made some change.,so if i sent draft mesg from dat folder.,the mesg has gone from draft folder.,

Hi Mohamed,
The feature you are talking about has been moved to the all-new version of mail. I’ve posted about how to use the feature here: http://ymailuk.com/blog1/2008/04/15/draft-message-as-form-template/
If you need help on how to switch to the new version of Yahoo Mail, you can find out how here:

Hope that helps,

June 29th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
I don’t know how to contact Yahoo to tell them that I cannot print out any emails direct– so I am using this venue.
I have contacted HP Photosmart ( I have their printer) and they say the problem is with Yahoo can anyone help please?

Hi Frederick,
I can suggest that you contact our customer care team. You can send your problem by filling out the form that you can see on this page: http://help.yahoo.com/l/uk/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/forms_index.html

Yes, I agree that Yahoo is the best out there! I’ve been a happy user for many years and Yahoo has never let me down. My only girpes are:
a. the online instant help service takes a looong time cos your agents seem to fall asleep before answering!
b. bring back the facility which allows us to save our drafts, even when sent. At the moment, they are now disappearing when we send them. Yes, I know I can find them again in my ‘sent’ folder, but it was so much easier to be able to keep our drafts without fearing their disappearance once sent!
Other than that…a fab service. Keep it up!
June 29th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Yahoo has always worked satisfactorily except for problems with MY computer. My biggest problem now is inaccurate typing after a stroke! Keep up the good work.
Yours,
John Wase
June 29th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Give us back the option to reply without the old message text. Why have you took this away ?. Yahoo anawers is full of people complaining about it, can’t understand the reasoning for this give us the option at least. Great service otherwise Thanks
June 29th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
I have used Yahoo! mail and Gmail for years now and like them both.Yahoo is very easy to use and appealing to the eye, but Gmail is faster.
June 29th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
THUMBS UP YAHOO!!!
June 29th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
Just stop other peoples Spam coming to my box please.I recently got twelve Spam emails and only four were correctly addressed to me.The others were sent to my box incorrectly

Good work guys!
Thank you.
June 30th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
yahoo wins hands down!!!!!!!!
June 30th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Mail seems ok, but accessing and working with CONTACTS has become extremely slow recently. Are you working to speed up contacts also?
July 1st, 2008 at 12:06 am
A very good service.!! However, attaching files sometimes takes hours…..yes….hours.!!! Please speed things up for all of us.!!
Cheers :)
July 1st, 2008 at 9:14 am
I’m not sure about yahoo getting faster – I’ve had no end of trouble opening it up just lately – so far this morning it’s took over an hour !!! Also the contacts have not opened so even if I can open it I can’t send or reply to any emails as it says I have no contacts. Its been 2-3 weeks now of problems.
I agree on the whole yahoo is good but come sort the problems out & get it running correctly. It’s pointless if you can’t open anything
July 1st, 2008 at 9:40 am
Currently I am not so happy. Each time after opening and reading a message, when I want to close the message the screen turns to “loading” and stays there until I actually log-out of Yahoo.
Charles

Hi Charles,
I’m sorry to hear that your having troubles. In fact, I’m suffering from the same issue (frustrating isn’t it). You don’t have to logout and log back in to fix it… Just hit the refresh button on your browser. That solves the issue for me.
Our engineers are putting a fix in place, so you shouldn’t experience the issue for much longer. If you do, please contact our customer care here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/uk/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/forms_index.html
Thanks,
Andrew – Yahoo! Mail Team

I’ve been using yahoo email for the past 9 years and never even thought to move to other email providers. Although I have email with others as well, but my permanent email has always been with yahoo.
Well done and God Bless….

i ‘ve been using yahoo for long even before this actual email and i had tried others but there is nothiing near. good job yahoo !
July 1st, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Glad to hear you are working to improve mail. I have to say that I have had a lot of problems just lately with Yahoo mail. I am currently living in Cyprus so email is an essential way of keeping in contact with family and friends. Recently I have had many problems logging into UK Mail and cannot get through to anyone in Customer Services either. I never know if it is a known problem or if it is something specific to me. I assume it is a known problem as it often resolves itself but sometimes it is a couple of days before I can get into my email again. Have you got any suggestions? Or contact numbers that I can use?Kind regards,Yasmin
July 1st, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Well done on the upgrade, however, you service never seemed slow in the first place, but there is always room for improve .
July 1st, 2008 at 9:53 pm
Why do I get targetted with viagra and gambling spam? I’m not a man and have never gambled on line or off it!. I keep getting the same spammers by name too. Can’t you stop the known names even coming into the spam folder, please? It’s getting worse with c 60+ x day.
I still crash too often but apart from that I’m satisfied. Thank you for the upgrade.
July 2nd, 2008 at 9:46 am
yahoo is one of my fav email providers but lately it doesnt show a date on the mail i am sending until the following day. i like to keep record of what i am sending and recieving.
Apart from that i am happy with the service.
July 2nd, 2008 at 10:10 am
Anyone who thinks Yahoo is still slow should try Tiscali or Talktalk;you’d soon come back to Yahoo.
July 2nd, 2008 at 10:32 am
Not had any spam for some months now and even what did get through then was a minor irritation – excellent service giving me everything I need
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:26 am
Yahoo ! has always been on top while improving their services and providing better and convenient experience to its users.
This is one more step in this direction and cheers for one more great achievement.
July 2nd, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Keep on with the developement one day you will ataain the speed of light.
July 2nd, 2008 at 12:15 pm
yahoo has got to be the best I have tried msn, but can’t get it so that there are no hiccups, so back to yahoo the best by far
July 2nd, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Yahoo is the best – I have used it for years – would never dream of using any of the others which I have tried out but always preferred Yahoo. Keep up the good work.
July 2nd, 2008 at 1:47 pm
I can’t honestly say I have found it faster. If anything it has slowed down.
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I think Yahoo is the best but my mail is so slow so if it can be made faster would be delighted. Specially like the news. Thanks.
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Have to be honest have a problem with ADSL as have changed over to BT and things not functioning properly yet but if yahoo can be a bit faster would be delighted. I read your news each day and find you are ahead of everybody. Keep up the good work. Pam.
July 2nd, 2008 at 2:42 pm
I travel quite a lot & Yahoo has never failed me when working abroad.
Thanks Yahoo…
July 2nd, 2008 at 6:47 pm
FANTASTIC KEEP IT UP YAHOO
July 2nd, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Great service, good speed. Pleasure to have you for my internet service. I had a three letters of my last provider in th eservice name one was an O. I got half the speed that I get at the present time. And yes it cost me £29.99 a month.
After having a major stroke at a tender young age I required some tink to get my brain active. I am getting there.
Thanks for your good service.
One happy novice internet usuer
July 2nd, 2008 at 9:33 pm
I have been with yahoo mail for years and I did find it slow but it
seems to have speeded up lately, my only gripe is the 10MB
limit on file transfers. On lycos i have unlimited file transfer, I
feel that this is an area where yahoo is weak and should be
doing something to address this issue.
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:35 pm
you can not compare yahoo mail with any other-, its the best.
July 3rd, 2008 at 3:38 am
I have been using Yahoo Mail for quite some time now and its good. Its nice to know that our feedback is looked into and the surveys are effective.
Thanks!!
Is there any way for me to know when I opened my account with Yahoo. I know its been close to 9 years, but the exact date will help.
July 3rd, 2008 at 5:57 am
YAHOO THE GREATEST.
July 3rd, 2008 at 6:23 am
I use Yahoo Go! and Yahoo is the best. The problems seem to be more on the service provider side. Keep up the good work.
July 3rd, 2008 at 6:48 am
The browser web based service is very good. Pretty sure it’s the best one going.
Although I guess less people use the SMTP based connections, this is the area I find slowest, the server responses often time out the connection (Outlook etc.) when in the far east.
However it’s overall pretty decent.
July 3rd, 2008 at 9:00 am
Good team work keep it up.
Do you have a Nigerian in you team. Why do you nmot carry news about Nigeria?
What about the photo mail, why is it nit possible?
Please make it possible and easy to use.
Over all i love yahooooooooooooo..
July 3rd, 2008 at 11:46 am

July 3rd, 2008 at 1:04 pm

July 3rd, 2008 at 8:32 pm
I have read all the satisfied customers testimonials so what goes wrong in Turkey where we live. I have to use front page to read emails because I can’t pick up the website.
What’s the problem?
Some days I can’t get on for 2/3 days I’m thinking about going over to Hotmail.
Your comments will be appreciated.

Yahoo has been my very reliable companion for over 10 years now, and has not disappointed me in all those years.
Keep it up team!!!!!
One feature I look forward to; ability to filter the mails in my inbox using one or more filter criteria such as by sender’s email address, by receipt date, by size, by attachment, by matching a text string contained in any part of the email (i.e. email address, subject, or body).
Great work!!!

I seem to be having loads of problems getting the newer YahooMail to run and have been automatically switched back to Classic.
Oddly enough, my friend could access the newer YahooMail from my PC and using the same browser.
I have followed the instructions to run the new YahooMail but with no avail.
Feeling a bit fed up now.
Hi Sharon,
I’ve had a look at your issue. You’re one of about 15 or so users that are experiencing this issue. You’re getting a cookie mismatch error if I’m not mistaken. Engineers are looking into the issue and we hope we’ll find the fix soon. I hope you’ll bear with us as we try to fix the problem.
Thanks,
Andrew – Yahoo Mail Team
July 4th, 2008 at 4:22 am
I don’t know why but I like using Yahoo! mail rather than others. I’ve got accounts on other providers as well but Yahoo! somehow is the best one for me.
July 4th, 2008 at 7:01 am
Yes I find Yahho very very slow recently and although I would like to change to a quicker page I do like Yahoo so it would be great if it becomes quicker. thank you
July 4th, 2008 at 7:13 am
Quite possibly it’s a faster algorithm, but your new ‘destructive’ sorting procedure makes it impossible to view messages from a specific person in date order. Extremely annoying.
July 4th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
I like having a choice of both mail classic and the new Yahoo mail because I like them both for different reasons so please keep the choice!!
July 4th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Thanks for speeding up.Could you make the sending of photos easier;ie,select photos- possibly 20 or more then send in one batch. Have just been shown Msn and that does it.- Prefer to use Yahoo for mail though.
July 4th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Thanks a thrillian–You are super guys at yahoo mail and we all love you for such a wonderful service with speed and efficiency.
thank you
Edward geary Cork ireland.
July 5th, 2008 at 5:22 am
you need to do something about Spam, spam filters dont work. Gmail is slower but at least I dont get 10 to 20 mails a day trying to sell me viagra. I’m not impressed.
Yahoo keep messing things up with “Improvements” Stock Market Boards hasnt worked properly for 2 years since the last “Improvements”. Fix the stuff that doesnt work rather than messing up the stuff that does.
July 5th, 2008 at 7:31 am
I see you have isync for Apple Mac OS 10.5. A lot of Apple Mac users like me are still using 10.4. Is this going to be corrected?
Many thanks,
Michael
July 5th, 2008 at 9:06 am
yahoo is the best!
July 5th, 2008 at 9:35 am
Excellent news regarding the investment in upgrading your hardware. Whenever Yahoo! was slow for me it wasn’t slow enough to make me feel I need to complain. I very much like the design and happy to hear about the improvements. Thank you.
July 5th, 2008 at 9:48 am
hello
Congratulations on the wonderful service you are giving us.
Your speed and efficiency is perfect.

For over 11 years, I prefer the usability/design of Yahoo, over other web-based email programs. Thanks.
Nice to hear that you have upgraded to your equipment; however, I’ve been noticing a decline in performance over the last couple of weeks. Could this be related? About 40% of the time, messages have trouble loading now, i.e., opening in their own window or just opening all together — often without error messages. I’ve also had 2 messages just disappear completely on opening, and I had to ask the sender to resend. On the plus side, one friend’s messages used to take days to get to me– now they arrive instantly. That’s the only improvement that is obvious to me as a user.
To agree with a previous comment, I have rallied for improvement on “flagging” messages too. There are many ways to affect performance here…I’m anxious to see what your creative genius comes up with!
Thanks for the communication and hard work!
July 5th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Yahoo’s email is wonderful, here in Oman were sometimes grind to a halt but that makes getting back even better – thanks for the upgrades
July 5th, 2008 at 4:03 pm

hi,
that is good news – ive noticed that yahoo can be pretty slow to respond at time compared to other sites. But, the mail handling is still one of the best imo
cheers
July 6th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I have read all the comments on speed slowness etc,I am sure a lot depends on your download speeds from your server likewise it depends on your pc set up etc, also what you may be using at the same time you are downloading I find it very good to use and for me it gets 10 out of 10 so please carry on the good work all of you on Yahoo are doing. Danny

You are just so great and inspiring. Keeping the world together and moving on. I appreciate yor good works. Just keep improving. Regards
July 7th, 2008 at 7:52 am
yahoo mail is fantastic…
July 7th, 2008 at 9:57 am
I very much prefer my Yahoo email service and I don’tmind he adverts that appear but I dislike the mouse-over action that intrudes in my emails as I am trying to read them. This mouse-ovr action is also present on some of the home page adverts. I understand Yahoo use advertisers to sponsor their service bu can anything be done to reduce this mouse-ove acton.
July 7th, 2008 at 11:46 am
Love the speed up for which many thanks. Please can you now do something about the vast amounts of spam I have to clear every day.
July 7th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
I am having a good time using yahoo web. I do hope that it really get faster. I have abandoned all other services. Keep it up
July 7th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
I have various Emails, but in my opinion Yahoo tops the lot including efficiency and speed. As for your faster Email, I think you are aiming to reach the stars. In my business I totally rely on Yahoo mail and ignore the rest. Well done.
ALEX
July 7th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
JUST THE BEST and i’v tried the rest
July 7th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Last 6 months have been an absolute headache in being able to get any consistency with reception. Everyone I have phoned has blamed someone else for the reception and connection problems.
Finally, dont know whether its a coincidence but with Yahoos recent system updates have im proved my connection problems, fingers crossed lets hope this has fixed it.
July 8th, 2008 at 6:47 am
The worse thing with yahoo mail is that it does not automatically update when new messages are received. Having a disability means have to continually click to check is very painful.
It’s even worse since the pop access ceased – this was since we had to put the @yahoo.co.uk in – cannot access now in ANY pop program
You say it will be faster – that I can’t beleive till I see it beginning to not trust ANYTHING Yahoo says
—
Hi Pete,
Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the POP access with mail. Rest assured our engineers are working on the problem and we expect full service to be back up and running in a short while. You should still be able to POP your mail and send via SMTP, however you may experience delays (or occasionally receive an error) when sending mail via SMTP. Watch this blog for updates when we are able to fully fix the issue. Also please make sure you check your POP/SMTP settings: http://help.yahoo.com/l/uk/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/pop/pop-28.html
Thanks,
Andrew – Yahoo! Mail Team

I have noticed hat sometimes i have had to wait for quite along time and sometimes i have even got messages saying to try again later! … I think this change makes a great email service even better!

July 8th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
as someone new to email i can only say i am delighted with Yahoo
July 9th, 2008 at 8:53 am
the only thing that lets yahoo mail down for me, is the fact that there is no audible alert when mail arrives, as there was when i was with aol, come on yahoo, it all may be faster, but when you have people with poor eyesight, they dont always see the icon telling them they have mail, surely this is not that difficult to add an audible warning,
July 9th, 2008 at 10:37 am
Please put the photomail back. I’ve just got married and have had loads of photos to send and I really do prefere the old way of putting photos into letters where you could see the actual picture and not just an attatchment some people wont open ANY attatchments so they loose out on pictures. PLEASE put it back
Thanks
July 9th, 2008 at 10:59 am

Regards Marie Blakeley
July 9th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Its good news thanks for improving and making it more faster.
July 9th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I find the mail speeds OK.But the Spam protection to be very poor.I get mail in my box thats not even addressed to me how come?
I block the spamers but can only do 500 and the amount i get each day its not good.
Give us more help in the Spam front or some new way of blocking certain words like drugs or Pharmacy etc.Like you can do on AOL.
July 9th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
I do have a googlemail acocutn but it is going and I am going to stick with yahoo. I was going to leave when it looked like m$ was going to buy it but they haven’t so I’m staying. Like the performance as well. Much better. And I prefer to have different folders rathetr than labels.
July 10th, 2008 at 4:24 am
It´s an important satisfaction. Thanks
July 10th, 2008 at 6:15 am

July 10th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Never had any problems with Yahoo mail before but if it’s getting even faster then great! Excellent service. I love how you can chat from inside email too. : )
July 10th, 2008 at 10:59 am
Thanks for the update on email speed. It has not been a great problem for me.
More urgent to takle I would say is the growing problem and number of spam emails.
Could you not set up an automatic reply to these jerks to desist or their name will be passed on the relevant authorities ?
Best Regards,
Ray
July 10th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
waooooh!!! what an efficiency way to reach out the world in just micro-seconds.
July 10th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Very nicely done. Keep on innovating, and don’t sell out to Ikhan!
July 10th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Glad you’re improving speed. Fewer front page ads and memory hungry visuals would help too!
July 10th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
THATS GREAT NEWS… EASY TO USE EVERY WHERE END EVERY PLACE
July 10th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Yahoo has always be my best email address in the past and at present. I am so please with this grate news and I am also very much looking forward to see it done. In addition, I will also want to thank yahoo for providing us with this fast mail. Thanks
July 10th, 2008 at 6:53 pm
I have been using Yahoo from 1992 and I still use it today because it easy to get the mail site and save and print my emails and the spam letters are easy to remove as outlook express doesnot get all the spam emails every time you log in there so i have to keep telling it that it is spam
Yahoo is for me
July 10th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
thanks for your effort and support your customers
July 10th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
You are just so great and inspiring. Keeping the world together and moving on. I appreciate yor good works. Just keep improving. Regards
July 10th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
its fantastiic and really fast congrats, hope you continue like this.
July 11th, 2008 at 6:41 am
Your speed is too low on the beta version. Better features can be added. If the messenger is linked to the mail then it will be cool.
July 11th, 2008 at 9:23 am
Great to see Yahoo keeping improve but it seems open the gate to spamers wider and it is getting worse and I find it very annoyed. I tried using filters and block addresses but seem it do not deter them at all.
Spam button seem not make any good function are they?
Also I been told I will see rolox, not sure if it what is called, it is sort of blue folder next to senders on the left sides of inbox to see who are in my address book or not, still not there for a long time. Will it show up eventually or not?
July 11th, 2008 at 11:23 am
Yahoo is the best site going. Its really good to know that when I spam items I never get anymore mails from those sites. Keep up the good work.
July 11th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
still very slow need much iMprovement frames on email inboxes seem to freeze up unecessarily and waste to much time
July 11th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
I have gone through all the comments, my sincere opion is that I appreciate and thank you for your services and I hope for future improvements. thanks in a million
July 11th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
Yahoo mail rocks! As long as Microsoft don’t buy yahoo I will always use yahoo mail for all my emailng convience!
July 11th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
The only problem I have had with my Yahoo Mail, which is otherwise great, is that occasionally whilst I am in the middle of typing an email it suddenly disappears and is nowhere to be found, meaning that I have to start my message message all over again! It’s as though one of the letter keys of my keyboard acts as a ‘delete’ stroke! Most frustrating! Has anyone any idea what might be wrong?
Thank you!
July 11th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
i think it would be a great idea for there to be a program on your desktop to quckly accsess email when needed
July 11th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
I have been extremely frustrated with both Yahoo as a Homepage and Yahoo Mail for the past few months due to very poor performance. The news that you have upgraded your servers is good but I am surprised that a company of your size have not used even basic Capacity Management to size the growth of your servers correctly in the first place.Every decent IT department knows that demand will outgrow Server Infrastructure at some point and therefore size capacity appropriately. I hope you have got it right this time, If not then I suggest you look at the competence of the server team.
July 11th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Needless to say, Yahoo and Yahoo Mail when it is fast is still the very best, great design, Thanks
July 11th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
Hi, reading the emails, I just realised that I have been using Yahoo mail for over 10 years !!!!! it is STILL the best…Thank you
July 12th, 2008 at 1:50 am
I’m really new to the internet, but since I got my ‘Dongle!!’ I’m hooked.
Yahoo you are absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much, you’ve made my computing so much easier – I smitten by you!
July 12th, 2008 at 2:01 am
Yahoo you must be good, it’s 2.58am GMT and I’ve only just managed to get onto my computer after my wife has decided she’s ‘done’ for the day. Seriously though, the changes you have made are fantastic, keep up the good work and thanks.
July 12th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Yahoo mail is the best. I have acccounts with other mail services but yahoo is unbeatable.
Just one small grouse though. Why is there always the cookie mismatch problem? This happens whenever I load my yahoo mail in the new format.
July 12th, 2008 at 10:36 am
YAHOO MAIL IS THE BEST I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR YEARS AND SEEN A LOT OF GOOD IMPROVEMENTS.
KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!!!!!!!!
July 12th, 2008 at 11:32 am
thax your services but still slow but all in all we appreciate
July 12th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Am completely fed up with this service.I now cant reply to emails or write new ones. Why cant you just leave things alone!!!! We are not all computer whizz kids and just want a simple fast service. Surely thats not too much to ask!!!!!!!
July 12th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
I find it a lot slower than before. How do I go back to the earlier one please
July 12th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Gr8 job guys….sooooo much faster and better……yahooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! :D :) :D :)
keep up the good work guys…!!!
July 12th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Yahoo is very good and I have an “@ymail” address as well.
However I am getting annoyed by the ever increasing amount of Spam CLEARLY not addressed to me but being delivered. That is my only complaint about an otherwise brilliant concept.Far better than hotmail or VirginMedia.
Please ask your Spam postman to be more carefull
July 12th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I am missing the tickable adding contacts feature to select a few contacts only. The holding shift key is selecting contacts next to each other, not random selection across the address book.
Bring it back please. Otherwise, compliments on a great service.
July 12th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
there is no better webail have several accounts but not one of them compares to yahoo mail
keep up the good work!!!!!!!
July 12th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Kinda miss carrier pigeons meself…
July 13th, 2008 at 5:43 am
To me, Yahoo is simply my main e-mail, and has been with me for as long as I has been online, more or less. Sure, like all it has had problems, but it has always been fixed too.
Sites that do not accept Yahoo emails for sign-up (they are out there) makes me grumble a bit as I never have relied on my ISP provided email — I have traded ISPs, but not my Yahoo e-mail. I have even passed on sites that refuse Yahoo — I have had other e-mail services for such things, but they all die after a while as I do not really use them.
So, thank you for keeping this good service running! (c:

• still very slow need much improvement frames on email inboxes seem to freeze up unnecessarily and waste to much time
July 13th, 2008 at 10:10 am
I have used Yahoo as my main e-mail for a very long time and after trying others I have found it to be the best.
Long may it last.
July 13th, 2008 at 10:59 am
Glad yahoo is faster now.Great job
July 13th, 2008 at 11:56 am
This morning there were 25 emails in my Spam folder.
Only five (5) of these were actually addressed to me
Why am I getting other peoples mail?
July 13th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
I really love Yahoo, like everyone else. But… I do miss the possibility to save e-mail texts to my computer. Why is it only easy to do for attachments?
July 13th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
I’m very happy with yous, keeping improuve congratulation.
July 13th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
i cant beleive that, but if it happens i’ll give kudos to the entire team
July 13th, 2008 at 10:23 pm

July 14th, 2008 at 12:50 am

July 14th, 2008 at 8:32 am
I THANK YAHOO.FOR BRINGING THIS SERVICE TO THE BEST OF EVERY BODY.
July 14th, 2008 at 10:19 am
an excellent e-mail service for what i need it for.
and it’s great news that it’s got faster (just need to get BT to sort out the phone linee in my area.)
also it’s the only web based e-mail which works that same on Firefox 3.0 as it does on firefox 2.0.
thank you.
July 14th, 2008 at 10:51 am
Congratulations. 7.In my opinion Yahoo is fantastic and most dependable. Keep it up.
July 14th, 2008 at 10:53 am
It might be faster but I still have to sign in each time and no one will explain why – oh yes I’ve ticked the two weeks box. No effect
Googlemail is better.
July 14th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Thanks a million , i had a problem with attachments at certain times they just would not attach a right pain it was , but now its all back to normal keep up the good work
July 14th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Yahoo is a great webpage but is becoming slower and slower by day. Mail classic is very slow and needs great improvements. Attachments taking too much time to download and early hours of the morning the yahoomail website is not easily accessible. Your subscriber base is increasing but your network upgrades are taking longer or are failing to meet the challenge of increased subcriber base. Please do something, fast and we expect you to be the best site ever. Each household has its own problems. We know you can solve yours at a faster rate than fellow counterparts!
Cheers
July 14th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
I have found during the past few months a good progress on improving frames and speed, but to be honest, there are may improvements that yahoo need to impliment before yahoo mail page can be called perfect
July 14th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I have been with yahoo over four years now and i think they are first class many thanks.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Is anyone else having problems getting into their in box, as I routinely have problems oepning my email messages. Log in is fine, but when I click to open my inbox, nothing happens, and it takes several more clicks and minutes to reach my emails.
Is this anything to do with the advertisements which are popping up in the email section at the moment?
With thanks
July 14th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
I have been with yahoo for several years now and I like it very much easy to use and not many problems like other servers.
and yes, it is fast compared with your rivals, good service keep it up, thanks Norman Bennett Folkestone Kent. UK
July 14th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
yes yahoo is quicker! but the amount of spam I get is ridiculous, & very annoying, keep up the good work yahoo would never change. thanks
July 15th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Excellent.. Yahoo!! email is much much better that tutti-mail!
I’ve had issue’s with loading times with parts of my email but now you’re bulking up your infrastructure – this can only be good news.
Thumbs up Yahoo!!!
July 15th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Email is at times horrendous an very infuriating at how slow it can be, I use it for work and at times have had to turn the whole thing off and start again which means i waste alot of time and alot of money i might add. When it does work properly its great which is like most things really
July 15th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Great news. Just got to sort out all that spam mail we get sent – especially those from yahoo customers!
July 15th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
Great job on the speed Yahoo! However I would like to repeat what others have pointed out in the Spam issue.
My story is that out of the blue (about 3 months ago) I suddenly started to receive tons & tons of spam directly into my inbox! I love Yahoo! Mail but it is really getting ridiculous the amount of Spam that I and others have been receiving and so much so that I could switch. What’s worse is that I would love to open my mail via outlook exress but have been told that I can only do that AFTER having made a paid subscribtion to the Mail Plus!!!
—-
Hi Jenni,
Sorry to hear about the Spam issue you’re experiencing. I can assure you that we’re looking into the cause of the sudden influx of spam from all of our users who report it. As for using outlook express to read your email, I’m afraid as a user with an @yahoo.com email adress, you do have to sign up for Mail Plus. Users in the UK that have @yahoo.co.uk email adresses can POP their mail for free.
Thanks,
Andrew – Yahoo Mail Team
July 16th, 2008 at 4:52 am
My problem has been to get Yahoo to work at all, so I can’t iimagine what it would have been like before the upgrade. WHile there are a lot of users in China where I am based, other websites I have tried are not so affected.
As a result I have a back up e-mail service by another provider which I am using more and more
July 16th, 2008 at 5:15 am
I’m absolutely facinated with Yahoo services. It is the most user friendly e-mail web. As it Is, it was too good but the fact that you all are constantly working to improve on that, to enticipate your user’s needs, fancies is something
“Marvelouse” to say the least.
Who says ” one can only do one’s best, not better than that?”
Well you, dear freinds, have prooven this wrong.
Excellent job! Keep it up and never ever think of not being there permanently.
THANK YOU.
July 16th, 2008 at 6:37 am
Indeed it is true nowdays yahoo is faster than previous.
July 16th, 2008 at 7:35 am
yahoo is so much better than gmail gmail is crap and slow
i dont want stupid frilly script stuff i just want my email!
July 16th, 2008 at 8:12 am
I love my Yahoo mail because I can get it on my mobile phone. So when I can’t get to a computer I can still check my messages.Like when I come to Spain and visit my friends I can still keep in touch with my friends in the UK.Nice one Yahoo keep it up.
July 16th, 2008 at 9:22 am
I have lost the spellchecker and fonts toolbar etc!
—-
Hi Mike,
Souns like you need to be using the “rich text” editor to get the fonts toolbar. If you’re using classic mail – you should see a link called “Rick Text” above the compose window. You can set this as a default option in the “Mail Options” at the top right of your window.
Thanks,
Andrew – Yahoo Mail Team
July 16th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Delighted to get news that email service hqas been made faster. Congrats to your engineers and all concerned in this upgrade ofn services. Thanks
July 16th, 2008 at 4:23 pm

July 16th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
Hello – I’m here again complaining about Spam
My Spam box tonight had sixty two (YES 62) emails.I took the trouble to check them all to find that ony twelve (12) were actually addressed to me aand the rest had all been incorrectly sent to my box
WHY?
Surely there is something drastically wrong for this to be continually happening
July 17th, 2008 at 7:11 am
Yahoo mail has stood the test of time. Easy to use and faster than most of the mail services. Kudos to the Yahoo team and more especially to their technical staff. Thanks
July 17th, 2008 at 10:08 am
I have been trying to chat the whole day but am not able to!!!
It’s been loading since morning and it’s frustrating not being able to chat with my buddies, pls explain what is happening!!!
Funny enough, i can chat on @yahoo.com, this begs the question, what is happening with @yahoo.co.uk????
July 17th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Yahoo is one of the better sites around. This ste is well constructed has good graphic apeal, good feeds and allows us the users to make good use of our ” Space” Perhaps some of the obligatory adverts are a bit of a damm nuance but I guess finance has to be raised some how. A faster version would be great!
July 17th, 2008 at 10:45 am
thanks for your effort and support to your customers.
once again a thanks to Yahoo

July 17th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
i have been using Yahoo for more than 6 years my alternate Email is ____@yahoo.co.uk i suppose i am using this one from 1999 if i am not wrong.
I have seen a drastic changes in Yahoo’s approach in changing the platform of Emailing with the storage capacity.
I can bet that no one is better than YAHOO.
“YAHOO is the BEST OF THE BEST”
No replacement for the same.
I feel proud having as my personal business ID.
July 17th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
you said to jenny that people with yahoo.co.uk can send emails free with outlook express well it wont let me and i have yahoo.co.uk and i get 20/30 spams every day.plus i must admit im having terrible trouble with windows & msn as it keeps kicking me out BUT not yahoo well done i will stay loyal to you,Keep up the good work
Patricia
July 17th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
hello yahoo mail. you are so much better than hotmail.
July 17th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
AOL is so much faster in nearly every way. Why not try to emulate their standard?-
July 17th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
I hope that by faster you mean that mail gets to it’s destination quicker rather than the speed at which a page loads. Because the former is the only problem I have had. That – and with the latest changes – not being able to block unopened spam, then check the blocked addresses to see the senders address. We now actually have to open a mail to see the senders address and/or to block it. Not a good move yahoo! And one which will add to the spam – plus make us less secure.
July 17th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
So you say that you have speeded up the service on yahoo mail. This is of course relative to before. The greatest problem is your insisteing upon my tolerating advertisements while i am accessing my mail. If you want to insert advertisements on site, fine, but please have a little respect for your clients and allow me to access my mailwithout having to wait while different cookies download and intefere with my activities. The increase in speed would attract many more users if they knew that they would not have to wait on advertisers imposing themselves on them.
July 17th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
i really love yahoo because its so user friendly and easy to understand.Ever since ave started using yahoo since around 2001 i still havent seen any mail server that is better
July 17th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
My email has gotten much slower. It takes forever to load (if it loads) now.
July 18th, 2008 at 4:01 am
Very pleased to have the upgraded version. Thank you Yahoo!! and thank you for the Extra Storeage….Too!!!!. all the best to keep up with Time.

I agree only with those opinions above, which prove that yahoo mail did not speed up a bit. Since the very beginning of using yahoo mail I have had frequent problems. Due to some of them I had to switch to a different mail account. Now I check yahoo mail only occassionally to inform senders about my new mail or change subscriptions. I did not notice any change in speed of opening or sending messages or changing options. I am sorry to say that what you claim about improvements is just a piece of marketing play and nothing else
July 18th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Simply outstanding fast and a example others should follow suit,Been with all the rest and still keep coming back to Yahooooooooo?.A service you never seem to find these costly days and all for free, what can one say.Only Thank you to all the Guys n Girls that have made it possible without you like many organisations Yahoo would not be the strengh and key player in this field.
Well done,
And Thank you.

That’s great news … but what about the SPAM e-mail that not that long ago you guys were great dealing with it and than overnight we started receiving it like hell ? :)

Today I had 37 emails in the Spam box of which only 6 were addressed to me.Some were not even remotely close to my email name.
WHY (again)
Sack the postman and get one who can actually read
July 19th, 2008 at 6:26 am
What are you saying, YAHOO? You telling me your webmail was slow?…Please!!!!!!!! YAHOO WEBMAIL is the very best I’ve ever encountered. You’re always and forever number One, no two ways about that. Big Up YAHOO! One Love everytime.
July 19th, 2008 at 9:07 am
esp yahoomail chat… u guz r great… big up!
July 19th, 2008 at 11:16 am
No, it is not faster, it is slower. The page wont fully load until it has downloaded all the trackers and adverts. This is a waste of time because I use adblocker and can not see them anyway.
All I have is a slow to the point of unusable mail service. And before you blame me for your poor performance, I have a 24Mb connection.
Also I do not like webmail. With every other mail server I use, including gmail, I can access them through my email client, thunderbird. Yahoo is the only one that will not allow this.
—
Hi Harry,
Thanks for your comment. As a @yahoo.co.uk user you are able to access and send your mail using a client like Outlook or Thunderbird. From you mailbox click the link for “Options” then click “POP and Forwarding” from the list of options. You can set up your email client from there.
Hope that helps.

yahoo is a little faster but to be honest it is still a little slow but it will do. GREAT JOB.
July 19th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Would it be possible to increase the size we are able to send attachments. I wanted to email out our newsletter, it included pictures. It is 12,108 KB in PDF format. Or is there any other way to deal with large documents?
—-
Hi Roger,
As a Mail Plus user you can send attachments up to 20Megabytes in size. There is a small yearly fee associated with Mail Plus accounts – £11.95/year. Just be aware that some of your recipients might not be able to receive attachments that are 20MB in size.
Hope that helps.

I have noticed the recent speed of access. We certainly needed the improvements. Thanks.
However, I agree with the sentiments of No. 24 above. The next thing that must be “fixed” is preventing the tons of spam. Especially those from obvious fraudsters eg the supposed banks and building societies etc.
July 20th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
May be faster.. but I cannot get my addresses automatically as I start name of recipient.. this function comes and goes, without explanation…Please make it work!! Thanks in advance
July 20th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Fingers crossed the slowness is fixed. It has been dire at timestimes here in UK during the day- up to 10 minutes to load, and on a freshly booted PC. July was particularily bad, I thought I was going to have to take the pain of migration
cheers
David
July 20th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
I think its getting slower. Certainly haven’t noticed any improvement at all. It seems to have slowed up since you started the row with MS
What the h**l is Url? Some more geeky stuff!

Yahoo the preferred website for all. This is the best site. It has all it takes to reach the world within a second. Stick to it and hold on to it.
July 21st, 2008 at 11:23 am
i have been on other mail/chat websites, but they are much too complicated, and there is too much downloading that could cause viruses for my computer. yahoo mail is quick and easy. it may be slow but i would still preferre yahoo over any other websites

I DONT KNOW WHAT FASTER SERVICE YOU GUYS ARE SCREAMING ABOUT. I HAVE BEEN AT MYBLAPTOP IN THE LAST 4HRS TRYING TO SEND A SIMPLE WORDFILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 21st, 2008 at 4:54 pm
It was about time we had some improvements. Next can you start working on cutting down the amount of spam that gets through? It’s increased a lot in the last few months. Most of it is just pure [censored]. As it’s often the same ones again and again, it suggests to me Yahoo’s filter just isn’t effective when we click on them as Spam, in spite of your claims.
July 21st, 2008 at 6:26 pm
I do not really use my yahoo account anymore because it is really slow. All my spam emails come to my Inbox which is really annoying.
July 21st, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Since your update on e-mail I now find I can’t put a smiley from Smiley Central on the bottom of my e-mail. I do make sure the cursor is in the right place but the smiley ends up in the middle of the e-mail can you help?

July 22nd, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Lots of problems trying to open my Inbox – getting error message. This has been going on for weeks. Don’t notice any improvement with all these upgrades!!
Why don’t you improve your spam filters to cut out all the rubbish mails coming in from banks etc.
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:00 pm
When I open up web pages, very, very often I get the yellow triangle on bottom left hand corner saying ” Done, but with errors on page” I am actually looking at it right now on this page! What is that all about?
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:09 pm
From starting pc it takes 40 second before i can use Yahoo mail
my pc is very new why does it take so long to load Starting the web site no problem only problem is getting yahoo to start please help thanks
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:15 pm
I personally feel that the yahoo speed at the moment is perfectly good, but could use a few more changes to the way things work.like the calendar. If for instance you put down’Nannys birthday’on the 29th of January it could flash on your screen a couple of days before her birthday
so people can have time to get redy for the occasion .Not yhat you could forget such an important date ! (sorry nanny!)
but yes it is a good idea for slower computers to have a faster service.
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:43 pm
I started out my yahoo! mail with another email service, which I would rather keep to myself.
After about a month without logging on to both, the other ebox was frozen but m’Yahoo! was INTACT! So the decision was made for me.
Ever since, m’YAHOO HAD ONLY GOTTEN BETTER N BETTER AND THEN UNLIMITED! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Mail Classic solved my problem.
I could not read my Email messages so I changed to Classic and thank God the problem is solved.
Now I will change my comment that yahoo is wonderful.
Thank you, Yahoo.

July 22nd, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Great you’ve upgraded your memory! Never really had an issue with speed on yahoo and the new mail version’s spam filtering is much much better than the older version, Congrats to the team!
Just on another note for Yahoo in general but it affects the mail too, Your Adserve ads cause a lot of issues as they have to load before the page loads fully (this isn’t a yahoo issue per say but the advertisers server)
To those getting timeouts trust me its not yahoo’s servers causing the issue as their response time even during peak traffic is fantastic atm, your issue is a local issue, wether your computer or your ISP
Cheers
Ronan
July 22nd, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Most of the time lately–Yahoo mail is really crap!!!! Only spooling, can’t open any single mail….. crap!!!
July 22nd, 2008 at 11:00 pm
Truly my works is much faster than before.I recommend it for all.
July 23rd, 2008 at 8:45 am
Great, but on problem, How mnay sers can this handle. I suppose the more users, the mre slowness. However as yahoo offers a free POP service in the UK (and not in the US), you could just use thunderbird or outlook. I really do like Yahoo. Keep up the good work Yahoo!!
July 23rd, 2008 at 10:18 am
Actually I have seen more improvements because I can now brouse on my mobile phone any time any where. And I say a BIG congratulations to your engineers who have worked hard to see things go fine. Once more CONGRATULATIONS! for this upgrade.
July 23rd, 2008 at 10:25 am
i have been using yahoo for years. it is the best mail i have used.
July 23rd, 2008 at 10:53 am
Does this mean with all the new that mail plus users can now get IMAP support.
IMAP alone would be reason enough for me to subscribe. TBH I would pay the £11.99 a year for IMAP alone.
Another quick point – Is it possible for the Yahoo! devs to get together with the Opera dev teams. Opera have made leaps and bounds into getting Yahoo! Mail working but its still not quite right.
July 23rd, 2008 at 11:51 am
I have been on yahoo (kept changing accounts but been an avid yahoo user for it provided a whole bunch of great services like album and chat) for a very long time now, almost 7 years now and the service has been improving since the day I got an account; from faster access to unlimited space. It’s wonderful… Being an @yahoo.co.uk user, I would like you to change the settings for the sign out option, every time we hit sign out button on out mail page, we are asked to sign out completely on the following window (unlike @yahoo.com where you are signed out at a single click)… apart from that, I don’t see any flaws in your mail and thankfully, I never received any spam on my mail (and wouldn’t want to get any in the future)…
July 23rd, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Hi there, its true there is a much much improvement n keep it up gys, you r the best. your services r wonderful. chao
July 23rd, 2008 at 1:44 pm

Visual SIZE of E Mails in..or messages in.BK
July 23rd, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Great job guys.
I’d just like to second “8. Andrea | June 6th, 2008 at 11:17 am”‘s comment about syncing the Y calendar to Y mail. This would be ideal in order not to forget & lose flagged messages.
July 23rd, 2008 at 9:40 pm
thankyou for the faster yahoo e.mail;
July 23rd, 2008 at 11:38 pm
A truly brilliant improvement. The response time of yahoo mail is noticeably much faster.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks
July 24th, 2008 at 5:39 am
Yes your yahoo e/mail is faster & better ,it is good to know that someone does lison to you keep the good work up
July 24th, 2008 at 11:09 am
YAHOO MAIL SAY IT IS MUCH FASTER BUT I FIND IT IS STILL PAINFULLY SLOW OPENING IT UP & ACCESSING EMAILS. DOES THIS DEPEND ON WHICH INTERNET PROVIDER IS USED. I USE BT BUSINESS BROADBAND.
July 24th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Please stop spam coming to my normal email address , Thank you
July 24th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Yeah its so much faster me and my mates enjoy it soooo much more!!
July 24th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
you are doing a great job improving the system , keep up the good work
July 24th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
It’s not all that fast at all. You’ve introduced this security system whereby we have to type in a code before being able to send our mail. How can that be faster? And where was the notification that this was being introduced? Is it necessary? I look forward to hearing from you about this.
July 24th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
It can be frustrating having the pages drag on and on before opening. If you save your customers this one embarrassment, it will help in retaining their custom. You can’t afford lose them. Or, can you?
July 25th, 2008 at 4:22 am
why do i get so many adverts on my email, sometimes they are so big they take up half of my screen.
it is very annoying
July 25th, 2008 at 5:34 am
I have not noticed any speed up. In fact I would say it is worse. Additionally, each time I open Yahoo mail it sets off my security scan. I stilll trust Yahoo Mail though and enjoy using it.
July 25th, 2008 at 9:00 am
Ah so this is why it has been breaking down so much…keep up the 2nd rate service guys!
July 25th, 2008 at 1:03 pm

WHAT THE **** PEOPLE?! Yahoo is offering a FREE service. Stop bitching and whining(yeah thats at you Lazarus, Taz, John, and Russel and lots of others).
Stop being little girl and get over it.
The fact remains that this service is better than anyother.
July 25th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
you continue to update, and keep users up to date, at all times. congratulations.
July 25th, 2008 at 3:39 pm

July 25th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Why does my spam email box also contain emails clearly addressed 2 other people
It is definaetely faster at delivering wrong mail
Surely thats not rite
—
Hi Grumpy,
That’s an old spammers trick. Your email address is in the BCC field – that’s why it seems that they are not addressed to you. At least they are arriving in the spam folder ;-)
Cheers,
Andrew – Yahoo Mail Team
July 25th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
I have just installed the new zimbra/Yahoo desktop – and it dont recognize my wifes yahoo address at all!! What about something that actually WORKS that would be a good idea wouldnt it!!

July 26th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
for me yahoo is good and very fast to my computer yahoo keep it up maintain standards
July 26th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
I have used yahoo mail for years and always had yahoo as my home page,I find it the best.
The only problem I’m having lately is with spam mail,if I get 15 emails a day,a third of them will be spam,I have never had this problem before, its just in the last 3 months,I report every one as spam, but it’s still happening, this needs sorting out, thank you.
July 26th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
Thirty seven (yes – 37) Spam emails tonight and only five (5) were addressed to me.
Why do I keep getting other peoples Spam as well as that addressed to me?
Yahoo may be getting faster but it certainly isn’t being very accurate or competent
Surely you can do something about the incorrect postings
—-
Hi Peter,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re getting so much spam in your Inbox lately. We’re looking into the reason why.
I think the reason that you receive spam messages that are not addressed to you is that the spammer has included your email address in the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field. That’s why you don’t see your email address in the message. It’s a trick used quite frequently by spammers.
Hope that answers that question.
Thanks,
Andrew – Yahoo Mail Team
July 27th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
That’s good news Yahoo. I Just hope this works out quickly because attachments are taking long to upload.
Great work guys
July 28th, 2008 at 6:16 am
Yahoo! is the best mail service for ever! good stuff guys thanks allot! keep up services like this
July 28th, 2008 at 7:15 am
I have read your letter, but disagree that email is now faster, because over the last few weeks I have to wait ages for the page to appear and also I must sign in every time I use Yahoo Mail. This did not happen before and the service was much faster.
July 28th, 2008 at 8:53 am
This is Great. Keep it up up
July 28th, 2008 at 9:45 am
As far as I’m concerned Yahoo Mail is still a nightmare. It’s slow and sluggish. So whatever improvements htat have been made, they are not enough!!
July 28th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Isn’t it true that yahoo (and other global portal providers like youtube) have hardware all over the world, especially in high demand regions?
If im right, then wouldn’t the hardware need to be upgraded worldwide as opposed to the notion of “yahoo! HQ”?
Sounds a bit propaganda’ish to me, especially as some users in certain regions will experience slower speeds due to their local/national internet specifics…
DHD – YM! user since ’95
July 28th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
I still have not been able to get at the NEW YAHOO….Help Please XX MIKE XX
July 28th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
I have to say today Yahoo mail has been a nightmare.
1 email took 4 hours to arrive.
Please try and speed it up.
Thanks in advance
July 28th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
Thank you Andrew for your explanation regarding Blind Carbon Copy.
I’m not that computer literate to really understand but thanks for your reply
Forty seven emails in my Spam box since last writing of which only twelve were actually addressed to me
Thanks again Andrew but keep trying anyway
July 29th, 2008 at 2:33 am
Sorry, but I am NOT impressed. Not one bit. I think that Yahoo! email has been in a big mess for some time now, maybe for as long as a year, and there is little to suggest that they have been listening to anyone, nor taking action based upon customer feedback. Unless by “customer” they include advertisers who pay for their advertisements to be displayed. It seems far more likely they have taken a bashing from advertisers because the email system simply doesn’t work reliably anymore. Upgrading the hardware was probably much more to do with appeasing the advertisers than pleasing the customer. Also, if your experience is anything like mine, you will rarely, if ever, get to complete a session on Yahoo! email without it inexplicably grinding to a halt and displaying those really irritating “…you have stumbled upon a temporary error” messages. These error messages relate to a whole raft of different problems and are now surely to be regarded as a permanent feature of Yahoo! email. Obviously I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes at Yahoo!, but I have the impression that they have been messing around with the page coding in real-time and causing immense problems for the user (I found that loads of my emails had been deleted-I supposed- because the new beta system can’t handle large volumes of emails in folders) and generally everything has either slowed down or stopped (remember when the search engine worked properly?) while the new Beta system was introduced. Was it all worth it? No, it wasn’t. If it aint broke, don’t “fix” it. Now it’s all a bit broke. Extra hardware? Great, but how about making it all work reliably again?
July 29th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
very nice
July 29th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Perhaps you should concentrate on RELIABILITY..far too many errors and breaks in service.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Tried to post for ages but the comments just keep coming, very good there thats it
July 30th, 2008 at 5:54 am
this site is very good and very fast ,i am very pleased ,with what your team are doing ,keep up the good work by xx
July 30th, 2008 at 9:59 am
Your Spamguard doesn’t work. Every morning I have 30-40 overnight spams all trying to sell me Viagra online. My spamguard is on. I’m so familiar now with some of the originators whose email addresses are supposed to be blocked by Spamguard that it proves that Spamguard simply doesn’t work. Please help!
July 30th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
I’ve also been using yahoo mail for quite some time, I truly believe its excellent aswell. It sorts out spam very easily and without a fuss. Thanx to Yahhoooo Team!
July 30th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Yahoo has always been the best and most reliable mail site available and it’s getting better!
even though i get lots of persistant “code 4 errors” it’s better than the poor if not rubbish comparison – MSN/HOTMAIL!
the only thing i realy hate about yahoo mail is the annoying adverts that keeps popping up accross the screen but that is my only moan!
July 30th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Please stop Span coming on my E-mail address, also a quicker connection to yahoo mail.
Thanks
July 31st, 2008 at 7:30 am
Love yahoo mail but……I am getting tired of having to sign-in everytime I check my mail ! and yes those damned annoying adverts that open up and flood the screen…now that IS annoying !!!
July 31st, 2008 at 8:26 am
Yahoo mail is the best there is no comparison with others. I am totally satisfied with the speed, layout and all other stuffs. Great work by Yahoo team..
July 31st, 2008 at 12:29 pm
Can’t detect a great change. Yahoo has always been pretty slow and ironically this page took about 5 secondes to load.
The way the massive ads mess up the layout half the time is quite funny though annoying after a while, especially whe you have to wait 5 minutes for the ad server to go get the massive flash file that you don’t want to see anyway.
Thank goodness for gmail!
August 1st, 2008 at 5:55 am
keep up the gd work guys, you are the best!
August 1st, 2008 at 1:52 pm
I have just read some of the users comments for first time. I must have missed the moments when @yahoo.co.uk was quick. I have never experienced that! Today it has virtually stopped. I cannot receive or send so whatever you have done, please undo it and get back to just “sluggish” rather than dead stop.
August 1st, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Having a problem with spam mail but apart from that everything is good.
August 2nd, 2008 at 7:19 am
Yahho mail is the best, and hope in future it will be working with the same good sprit.
August 2nd, 2008 at 2:35 pm
The problem you have at Yahoo is that you go through the motions of being interested in users’ comments, but you then do nothing to sort out the problem. I have lost count of how many times you’ve asked me for my views – which I’ve given – then silence follows. You must learn one important lesson in running a business:
LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS
You pay lip service to doing so, but show no signs of doing so.
Look at the common threads in all these messages, then tell your customers what you propose to put the problems right. Either that or let MicroSoft sort it out.

August 2nd, 2008 at 8:53 pm
In the last few weeks my old style Yahooo.co.uk account has been very slow. I did not sign up for the new style yahoo when I realised it comes complete with popups and adverts. So long as the old style is free I will continue tio use it but I do wonder whether the recent problems happen more with old style yahoo as a disincentive to those of us still sticking with it The big increase in spam mails has coincided with the slow up. Paranoia?
August 3rd, 2008 at 10:59 am
I started using Yahoo Mail in 2003. It was my first experience of
email on a computer. It has been very satisfactory especially now that spam messages are bocked nearly 100%.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:46 am
Well done yahoo team, my first email address was a yahoo address and i have never changed it, coz i have never had a reason to quit Yahoo.

Never had any issues with speed, and yahoo is rarely down or slow for me…
… but …
Has anyone else noticed that the mail search facility has died? It used to be brilliant, and could pick up key words easily for fast and efficient searching through the archives.
But recently, the last couple of weeks or so, it finds nothing apart from precise names that appear in the top 25 emails – which is no use at all when searching for anything older.
Or is it just me?…

Maybe the engineers have had success in other parts of the country, but I have never known it so slow. I am able to go and make a cup of tea whilst waiting to log on, and then anything else I try to do takes forever.
I am seriously considering changing server as it is beginning to really irritate and is getting worse and worse.
What is going on?
August 4th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Yahoo mail is the best there is no comparison with others. I am totally satisfied with the speed, layout and all other stuffs. Great work by Yahoo team..
August 4th, 2008 at 5:09 pm

No Diffrerence, but better than Gmail.
August 7th, 2008 at 11:12 am
Nice one from YAHOO, but how can i get this?.
August 7th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
Please can you do something about the extortionate amount of spam getting through?
One of my other Yahoo a/cs was hit with over two hundred (yes honestly 200+) in the last tenty four (24) hours
August 8th, 2008 at 8:06 am
I haven’t noticed a difference in speed yet. But what I HAVE noticed is that the spam filter seems to have got messed up. Suddenly I am gettingt more spam – plus legit mails I have had for years are being delivered to the spam box.
What is going on?
Plus with the recent tweaks, we can no longer block a mail address without opening the mail first to see the sender. You say you listen but some of us have complained long and hard about this – with no result.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
What on earth is happening?
I’ve just logged on to one of my other accounts to find 418 (FOUR HUNDRED and EIGHT emails in my Spam folder.Obviously I’ve pressed “Empty”
August 9th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
I only use yahoo as a second account now that i have found google. Google has loads of add on’s is very fast and gives more options to be different when mailing(colors and fonts). I come back occasionally to check but yahoo is still not as good.
August 10th, 2008 at 12:57 am
Yahoo! Mail is NOWHERE near near as fast as Gmail. If you can get it as fast as Gmail, you’re on a winner. I know so many people who do not like the Yahoo Mail experience because it is too slow.
Remove the banner ads and use text ads like Gmail could help too.
August 10th, 2008 at 11:13 am
i trust yahoo mailn only, specially for my business mails.
yahoo mail never gave connection problems to me
August 10th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
i prefer msn messenger you ca send things and instantly the person you sent it to gets it. and besides it tells you if there online and if there replying
August 10th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
I have had my Yahoo email address since 1999. I have various folders in which I store all the emails I want to keep. Suddenly, two weeks ago, the date format that shows for each email in the folder has changed to the US style of mm/dd/yy rather than the UK style of dd/mm/yy. Is this because I have a .com account? If so, why the sudden change when it has been fine for the past 9 years?
The dates display fine and correct (ie in the UK date style) in the new style Yahoo Mail but I prefer the Classic Mail layout.
Other than that, I have no problems with YM

Yahoo! Mail has been my #1 choice for webmail since 1999 and I don’t intend changing anytime soon.
I just with you guys would get the new Yahoo! Mail beta working with Opera 9.5
August 11th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
To speed things up ever more get rid of the ads that take too long to load and stop me sending and receiving mail.
I have two other email addresses and many times, due to the slowness of Yahoo, I have used them. Google in particular DOES NOT have video ads.
August 11th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
My my my
Yes it certainly is quicker
In the last week I’ve had over a thousand (1000) emails delivered to my SPAM box.
145 have been delivered in the last 12 hours
Congratulations on the speed you are delivering
(That’s irony in case you haven’t noticed)
August 12th, 2008 at 6:07 am
for weeks now unable to attach jpg to email-this is a terrible state of affairs in 2008; heads should roll along with the walt disney cartoon font
August 12th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
278 emails in my SPAM box tonight.
That’s in addition to the 175 I had yesterday.
Your service certainly is a lot quicker at delivering SPAM
Incidentally what happened to my comment of yesterday?
Do you only allow good comments to be shown and disregard any criticism?
August 12th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Now all of a sudden your comment number 347 has appeared!!
I this in response to my dig at you for previously hiding it?
Anyway – thanks
All comments should be given an open forum
August 12th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
I REPORT SPAM BUT THE SAME ONES KEEP POPING UP IN MY EMAIL, HOPE IT WILL SOON STOP. THANKS ALEC
August 13th, 2008 at 5:54 am
I used to be able to put my edited signiture by ticking box when composing mail. Where has that ticking box gone??!! disappeared!
Very inconvenient as I have to copy + paste from my saved signiture now.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:42 am
Hi,
Yahoo my congratulations for an excellent service,
Regards Martin.
August 13th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
I prefer yahoo. there is nothing like fast
August 13th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Wow – once again Yahoo has shown how much quicker it now is.
I’ve safely received 271 (Two hundred and seventy on) emails in my Spam box in less than 20 hours. Now that is fast
Incidentally what has happened to the comments I’ve submitted for the last two days advising how many Spam emails I’ve received each day?
Does Yahoo prefer that not to be general knowledge?
August 13th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Amazing!!
Comments 347,348 and 349 have now suddenly re-appeared after me posting comment 350.
Will they still be shown after “moderation” by the Watch dogs?
August 13th, 2008 at 4:55 pm

The yahoo mail is great. But there is limited availability on mobile phones. Some countries are not listed in the list of countries earmarked for yahoo service on mobiles. eg. Tanzania. So every time I try to load it, I get an answer that the mobile number is incorrect!
August 14th, 2008 at 10:06 am
Using Yahoo is just pleasant of recent n av liked this. But,ma suggestion is that if possible u give us da lattest updates on World Sports and politics. 4 ma case also I’d like u help me get pen palls(Internationally). Thanks n I wish u better performances in ur Careers.

Yahoo! I’ll never quit from it.The services and da speed is just satisfactory.
August 15th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Big congrants o yahoo, you really make my work easier.you make yourself available wen needed.keep on keeping on,good work.
August 15th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Yahoo was my first e-mail, I have no complaints regarding the speeds. It has been great all this while. I don’t use it as much now a day’s primarily because I can’t use it with Outlook express. I know this facility is available for premium users. It does save a lot of time when you don’t have to go online & check every five minutes whether a new mail has come or not.
August 15th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
I’ve always used and liked Yahoo but I’ve noticed over the last few weeks that sending, viewing and deleting Emails is at times very slow and often I run into timeouts.
It’s been particularily frustating this week, so much so that I didn’t log in for two days, which is almost unheard for me.
August 16th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
Awful… slow service it takes ages to log on.. I think I will change server.. couldnt be any slower
August 17th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Sorry,I know that this e mail will not be posted but at least it might be read, anyway here goes,
i like yahoo mail but AFTER the “performance enhacements” downloads to yahoo mail have been abismal,it took me 8 seconds to reach my mail after login and 19 seconds to reach this blog,my speeds arn’t great 986 download 168 upload,so sorry you are not there yet,as I said Yahoo mail is good but performance has GOT WORSE,sorry.

August 17th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
i’m only a kid and sometimes it takes an hour and i sometimes get bored so i’m glad your making it faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 18th, 2008 at 12:04 am
What on earth is happening tonight/this morning?
You are bragging that Yahoo is now faster than ever yet,at the moment,I’ve never known it be so slow.
It takes ages to pick messages, switch to other folders and to go to calender and back.
Not good at all
August 18th, 2008 at 8:12 am
I think you must have missed me,. mine is still very very slow. Sorry dont mean to be negative but its true
August 18th, 2008 at 9:17 am
I am glad someone is getting their mail faster because I am not. It is taking forever
August 19th, 2008 at 11:19 am
EXCELLENT dudes………………
seriously i have been using for past 8 years & never ever had a glitch………
August 19th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Excellent USER INTERFACE…………..
August 19th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
Why is my e-mail so slow when you say it is much faster? It seems to be taking longer than ever
August 19th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Best i have been using over 10 year, no equal
August 19th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
I can´t remember since how many years ago I am using Yahoo. I feel working with Yahoot resembles a marriage, with its ups and (very few) downs
While we can´t write, read and think even faster. does it make sense to make Yahoo even faster?
However, your permanent improvements in Yahoo are a good reminder to all of us, that we must improve our own work.
May we all succeed!!
I send you my best wishes
August 19th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
1316 Spam emails in my Spam box from last Thursday.
Now that is much quicker than it used to be !!!!
August 20th, 2008 at 9:00 am
yahoo mail is not only the best , its the only best mail.
August 20th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
When is this speedier mail going to take place? My mail is slower every day
August 20th, 2008 at 6:37 pm
yahoo is slow, ufortunately i haven’t noticed any improvement
August 21st, 2008 at 8:51 am
You made Yahoo! mail faster, and then introduced non-cancellable animated advertisements on the Yahoo! page. I don’t care if the mail is faster, but I have to wait for advertisement to finish playing before I can access it. Because of this, using Yahoo! mail is now much slower than it was before.
August 21st, 2008 at 1:05 pm
I HATE having to log out of btinternet.com so that I can log into my yahoo.co.uk.
I want to keep my bookmarks and emails seperate
August 21st, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Yahoo is just great and comparable to none!!!!!
Keep it up !!!
August 21st, 2008 at 8:04 pm
What has gone wrong? It is running as slow as an asmatic snail. It was never this bad.Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Is the premium service any faster? Today it is virtualy unusable.
Can we have as fast as it use to be?
August 21st, 2008 at 9:05 pm
I thought this was going to take me to something I could upload to get faster emails! How wrong I was. My emails have been agonisingly slow – cant me by pc I’ve upgraded to a super duper fast one courtesy of a good friend of mine :). I thought maybe if I go to the newer look version it might help but I really didnt like it when I tried it so changed back again. I also don’t like the way I can only forward emails as “attachments” cos I get them the same way from another Yahoo user and when I reply in response to the attahcment he has sent me he doesnt know what I am replying to
August 21st, 2008 at 9:09 pm
I am sick and tired of the slow speed when trying to access my emails and all I get is a message telling me it is slow to load try refresh or yahoo classic. I know that I don’t need telling. Tried refreshing and changing to classic but it doesn’t work and every few days it’s the same or it just disconects when I am typing an email. Come on Yahoo this needs sorting and quickley.
August 21st, 2008 at 11:31 pm
my mail is also slower , all other rogrames etc open ok
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:51 am
Just a quick 1 all this speeding up of yahoo is all very good but I have got spam filter on and when I get unsolicited emails I then spam them right? Wrong they still keep coming through when is yahoo going to improve its spam guard thats what I want to klnow.
My mail that I keep on getting is mainly from bank of africa with someones name on it but at the bottom it will say a name then @live.com I know that this ia scam so i Spam it but it still keeps coming through.
August 22nd, 2008 at 8:44 am
yahoo is a good website but it’s better to load faster
August 22nd, 2008 at 2:29 pm
when ?
August 23rd, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I am so pleased that you have increased the speed of Yahoo Mail. I was thinking of changing to another provider as things were getting pretty slow for me. But not now so thank you and well done.
I love Yahoo and always recommend to friends when they are unhappy with their current provider.
Keep up the good work.
Regards Janet
August 24th, 2008 at 8:47 am
I still get the unable to acess page message, after about 5 weeks! I have taken to bypassing it altogether otherwise I cannot keep in contact with my son in China. Why do I get that blasted black message all the time? My other son has checked that everything SHOULD work!
Before this my mail page would come up when it felt like it and ALWAYS asked for my password – even after two minutes of switched-off – is this normal too?
Until you mentioned the ‘new, faster’ etc. I had had no problems at all.
August 24th, 2008 at 9:00 am

I am pleased that Microsoft found it impossible to change your minds
August 27th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
seems to be slower to me not faster
August 27th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
I have had Yahoo! Mail for some time. The speed recently has slowed down considerably and the “loading” message seems to take forever to finish.
This past week I was unable to even get into my Yahoo! mail at all. I can now at least get to the site, but not into my mail. The closest I got was only once and that was to my mail page, but could not open my mail and got the following message:
Unexpected HTTP Response- Status Code: 12152. Help
August 28th, 2008 at 5:40 am
Well it great……superb perfomance..thanks to yahoo
August 28th, 2008 at 7:30 am
I have tried other email sites but I much prefer yahoo . Good stuff thank you
August 29th, 2008 at 4:30 am
When was the upgrade completed? If it was earlier than a few hours ago, you could have fooled me. The Yahoo!! has been dogging it for about three days now.
August 29th, 2008 at 7:48 am
Pity you cant make it more reliable!
Twice i’ve lost access in the last 2 months..totalling a week without access to my emails,,
Please improve reliability.
August 30th, 2008 at 9:45 am
it seems better performance
September 1st, 2008 at 5:52 am
Yahoo is the best for one to send mails world over
September 1st, 2008 at 9:31 am
Great mail always reliable
September 1st, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Yhaoo must have the worst – by far- spam filter of any e-mail vendor. Needs a monumental improvement,.
September 1st, 2008 at 6:12 pm
Its OK having faster mail but I’ve got to log in several times a day with my password. I’ve tried reading your notes as directed with no success (can’t find the bit mentioned); I’ve tried emailing – no-one replies, except once – with a message I could not follow. It would be faster for me if you would change (or tell me how to change) the timespan between password prompts … please!!!???
Why do you never respond to my emails?
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:13 am
yahoo is the best so far. I have been using yahoo since year 1999 till now NO DISAPPOINTMENT.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:58 am
