ATTN Firebug Users: You may need to update your plugin!

firebug.pngThere have been some recent reports of issues that some Firefox users may be experiencing with the All-New Yahoo! Mail, if they are currently using the Firebug plugin (a popular browser tool for debugging or editing website code).

Fortunately there is already a Firebug update that should remedy the situation. Check out the Firebug website and look for the link to install version 1.1 Beta (it’s just below the big orange button).

Once you are running the latest version of the plugin everything should be fine, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on things anyway.

I have this new problem using Firefox 3 beta 4 on Ubuntu 8.04 using the All-New Yahoo! Mail.
Whenever I delete a message on my Inbox that would crash the browser. I know I’m too much on the bleeding edge, but the system is rock solid otherwise and I’ve reduced the problem to this specific use case. Please contact me if you want more details.

I’m ready to give up on yahoo mail after using it since Day 1. The constant errors over the last few days are unacceptable. Error codes 1, 2, & 5 pop up more often than my inbox. Get it together.

Why Calendar and Notepad are not integrated yet in Yahoo!Mail?? Are still working on it?

Good luck with the new Yahoo but frankly it doesn’t display correctly with Firefox and I’m certainly not going to use Internet Explorer. So bye, bye I’m moving to iGoogle.

thanks for this info. Firefox was consistently crashing when I would navigate away from yahoo mail. This was happening on both my mac and xp systems, and I do have firebug on both. Just upgraded firebug on my mac and it seems to have resolved it — now on to my xp system.

I have been having the same crashing problem mentioned above when using Firefox 3 beta 4. Otherwise, yahoo mail is the best.

@JF
Over the last days Ubuntu 8.04(Hardy) got updated to Firefox 3 beta 5 and it doesn’t seem to crash anymore when deleting messages. So either Y! or Mozilla fixed something.
Keep up the good work and I hope we’ll see the “All New Yahoo! Contacts” soon ;)

For the last couple of days, Yahoo has been reloading my page shortly after I log on, even though the ‘Keep me signed in for two weeks’ option is checked. It insists that I am signed in elsewhere. I am not. I use FireFox as I do not like IE. Is there some issue with FireFox/Yahoo? Some other setting I need to change? I had made no changes to any settings prior to this occurring.
