All-New Yahoo! Mail arrives for Safari 3

There’s a very good chance that many of you have already noticed, but just in case you haven’t, I’m here with some delightful news for my fellow Mac users. Yahoo! Mail, a key starting point for millions of people around the world, is now fully accessible from Safari 3.0 on the Mac!

Our guys have been working feverishly to make sure that everything works as intended. Some have even made the occasional trip down the road to “The Mother-ship” (as many a Mac enthusiast has called it), but none were nice enough to bring me any gear from their company store.

I guess I’ll just have to make a trip myself. Anyway … back to the subject at hand.

The rollout is already underway, and we hope to have the updates out to most of you within the next couple weeks. Once it’s completed, folks running the most recent update of Tiger (OS 10.4.11), as well as those using any version of Leopard (OS 10.5.x), will have a version of Safari that plays nice with the All-New Yahoo! Mail. Or maybe it’s a version of Safari that the All-New Mail plays nice with. Either way, they are pals now, and that’s what really matters.

Of course Mac users could already use Safari to access Mail Classic, and Firefox to access both, but with this roll-out, the latest version of the world’s most popular Webmail service will be available to an even broader audience of Mac users.

There are some other enhancements that aren’t Mac specific, so be on the lookout. I’ll be back with more news on that soon.
