One of the major showstoppers of new Yahoo mail
is support of RTL languages like Hebrew, Arabic
or Parsian. This is the primary reson I use
mail classic + simple plain text editing
because I can switch a text direction
in Firefox to RTL mode.

Without decent support of non-english
speakers, yahoo mail becomes unpopular.

BTW: I'm Yahoo Plut User

I do not like, and do not appreciate, the arrogant way Yahoo decided to change my account without either asking permission or giving me a way to get what I had back.

I do NOT like autocomplete; it is one of the most annoying apps since multiple popups on one site.

I do NOT want the CC field there all the time; it is something I almost never use, so I had it minimized. WHY change it?

It should not be too hard to implement these changes; after all, I am sure you guys have the code in a backup.

Finally, you guys are screwing around with the golden goose. Yahoo first came to promininence with its e-mail app; this brought in people so you guys could sell ads. Now, with this arrogant and high-handed decision to screw with people's e-mail, the one app they passionately care about, you are looking to drive users to Gmail, Hotmail, and other, less user-friendly e-mail providers.

All I want is my options back!

A pet peeve of mine is that I often get messages days after they were sent, and sometimes not at all. I have daily subscriptions to certain emails and miss a day here and there, only to sometimes find them showing up anywhere from a few hours later than normal to a few days later (i.e., on Thursday afternoon Monday morning's email will appear for the first time in my Inbox). Does this happen to anyone else with Yahoo email?

Also, I wish the new Yahoo mail would have an option to view only the unread emails and to load the email list quicker when scrolling through a folder.

I like how the new mail is still buggy after all these years (slow, "appears to be taking longer than usual to load") Feature deficient. And a real nifty feature is how my sent items, which usually have the recipients address noted, ALL SWITCH TO "MY NAME" when I move them to my archive folder for safe keeping - useless !

I've been using PC's since 1985. I am 73 years young and use my PC more now than ever. I don't understand why so many Yahoo users seem to be so beholden to Yahoo. If you make requests directed to Yahoo, why be so condecending? I've been unable to access my email for 5 days now probably because I'm not able to get access to their response(s) that are in my inbox. I have no choice but to format my hard drive and restore all with my backup.

Ryan K,

I'm a bit late adding my comments but seem to have a somewhat different use for Yahoo Mail. We use Mail Plus of necessity but the cost is minimal relative to what we get.

We are a retired couple in our late 60s and travel quite a bit, usually together but not always. We use 2 laptops - no desktop base station. By necessity our ISP is Earthlink because of their superior dial-up network. They also provide broadband at home. I have maintained the Yahoo account for a number of years.

The Yahoo mail account is used as a consolidated mailbox for both our individual Earthlink accounts and the Yahoo account. Our need is for each of us to be able to access all the mail, incoming and outgoing, in a single mailbox from any internet-capable device and Mail Plus allows us to do this although there were some growing pains for the cell phone. I've got some suggestions on this last item but they're for a later time other than a request that the "Check Other Mail" feature be maintained (I had some interesting times chasing that link around the site last summer and some inconvenience when I couldn't find it for a week). Mail Plus is my preferred link as any service that pushes data to the phone creates roaming charges for items I don't need while I'm out of the country. On those occasions I usually leave the laptop at home and use the cell phone because overall coverage is much better than the combination of wi-fi and internet cafes. Ditto for coastal sailing to remote areas. The cell phone provider is AT&T whose GSM network lets me use my normal phone almost worldwide.

I compliment you on your reliable service. We use New Mail except for times such as the recent refusal of New Mail to send messages to a list, when at the suggestion of one of your reps we switched back to Classic long enough to get them out. The backup is a nice feature.
