I guess it turns out that Field of Dreams wasn’t entirely on point with the whole “build it … they will come” stuff. Blog stats over the last week have given me a strong indication that the movie should have added “and provide a link” to the famous phrase. That being the case, we are in fact seeing a lot of new visitors to the blog, so I’m going to take another opportunity to ask you to bookmark, subscribe, make this your homepage, or if you want to be really nice … just never leave.
This is VERY important for you folks who check that box, during sign-in, that keeps you signed in for two weeks. If you are signed in for two weeks, that means you probably won’t be seeing that sign-in page for two weeks. And since the link is pretty much only on that page (fear not, I’m working on that!) you need to make sure you know how to get back here. Rest assured, there are also links in the “other blogs” areas on other Yahoo! blogs, but why not just save yourself some trouble and jump on board while you are here? You’ll be glad you did.
Repeated apologies to those experienced readers who have already seen this stuff, but fear not I will try to find you guys some breaking news next week. On that note I’m going to leverage some content from my post last week…
Whether you are looking for the:
- latest news about Yahoo! Mail,
- tips from users, or from Yahoo! staff,
- links to the latest tutorials,
- screencast demonstrations,
- a peek behind the scenes here at Yahoo!,
… or what have you, this is where you can go to find it. You can also subscribe to the RSS Feed, or even better you can add it to MyYahoo by clicking
and you can see updates there! I look forward to seeing you back here in the future.

Have you grabbed your buddies Treo (PALM not WIN), to see how these new pages open (both in optomized & page mode)? My choice is to stick with all the classic pages until they accomidate the PALM Blazer software (or until there is no longer a choice).

Hi! I guess I’m one of “those experienced readers who have already seen this stuff” (at least, I would say so :)), but I still find this quite handy.I subscribed to this RSS Feed ages ago though.
Off topic: Ryan, that photo is better than the previous one.

So next week we’ll see breaking news? Hopefully that will be the new calendar?! That is the one thing that would really compliment yahoo.
PS. How come the comments are disabled on the calendar blog?

Just a little thing that’s sort of been bugging me about the feeds in new mail. I don’t have a lot of feeds loaded, but a few, and I prefer to keep them condensed. When mail was in beta, the ‘all feeds’ heading would only be highlighted if there was actually a new entry in one of my saved feeds, so I would always know when there was new material. Now, ‘all feeds’ stays highlighted all the time, even when I’ve already read all the updates that’ve been posted. (the individual feed icons do still only highlight when there is new material.)
Like I said, I know it’s a really small thing, but I liked it better the other way.

Ryan,
If you’re still keeping an eye on these comments (I would have lost interest after the moronic batch posted above), please have someone look into the attachment thumbnails issue. I use the Classic interface and instead of getting a thumbnail for image attachments, I get an icon of a sheet of paper. This happens for all attachments that I receive and I’ve heard of at least a dozen people with the same problem. I even tried mailing myself a picture attachment and it failed to display the thumbnail, so I don’t think the senders are to blame.
I would also like to thank you for keeping the Classic interface, since I probably wouldn’t use Yahoo! Mail if it weren’t available anymore, and for the “Keep me signed in for two weeks” option, which is such a relief from the annoyance of having to log in every day.
Thank you in advance and keep up the great work. Happy Holidays!

Hi, this is regarding Ippomails.net. I had reached a level for payout and since I was a free member Ippomails admin asked me to upgrade so that the redemption could be done within their payout framework. I upgraded to Gold by paying $275 that was in July 2007 but till date have not received any payment nor any reply to my emails. Has anybody had a similar experience. What can one do in this kind of situation.

Good morning Ryan,

I am enjoying the new, new yahoo email, but I have some ?’s. I keep getting a different login page, that flashes for less than a second. Is this OK? Is there a way we can find out what properties pages are supposed to say, like dates origin. and created and certificates or other stuff, to know we are not being misled to a fake yahoo signin?…along with the correct web address of login and email. I fear I’m being hacked or phished or something like that. Maybe email this to your subscribers if it can’t be publicly shown. Help me please. Thank You Debbysue

Hello, I don’t know where to go with this, but since this concerns mail, here I go….
Is there any known issue with the Yahoo Mail alerts that anyone is aware of?
For the last 4 days, my audible and visual alerts are not functioning. I’ve tried many approaches to fixing the problem, but nothing seems to work, so I’m wondering if it’s just me.
Thanks.
