Oktoberfest hits Yahoo!
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m still relatively new at Yahoo! So when I came into work on Monday and saw a special Yahoo! Oktoberfest 2007 glass … I thought it seemed kinda cool and didn’t really give it much more thought.
Then we had our all-hands meeting on Wednesday afternoon (you can get an idea of where Jerry and the other execs see us headed over on Yodel) and I found out that Yahoo! takes Oktoberfest pretty seriously. For more than 10 years now Yahoos have been treated to some good ol’ German inspired delicacie and some Munich style tunes.
Above you will see some of the delicious Apple Sausage (sliced into easily snackable sizes) and to the left you can see the leader of our German style Oktoberfest.
Even though the party didn’t really start until about 5PM, Yahoos happily stayed into the evening. I even spotted some folks from the Mail team returning to their desks with some new-found energy.
Next year I will know to wear my lederhosen.

FTCC has Octoberfest on the 24th of this month. We will have yummy fried rice and fat filled sausages from the grill. Provided by our clubs on campus. Yahoo’s version looked very entertaining… I bet everyone enjoyed themselves. I have never heard of Apples Sausage. hmmm…. How did they taste?

Hey there,Oktoberfest is a great time of year,if you haven’t already ,go to Munich,I was stationed
in Germany, and went two years and it is a good opportunity to meet the German folk, the beer is unlike American beer,it is fresh and contains no perservatives.they have whole roasted henchens(chickens) and Oxen feet, also huge pretzels.I hope one day to return.Happy Friday Sincerely Brad

“While you were drinking”
I see Yahoo pushed out an update of Yahoo Mail Classic. A bug that was in the new mail got introduced in classic, which is that mail you pop from other accounts is not removed from the other server even if you do not check “leave messages on server.” This bug stopped me from using the new mail and now I’m thinking of not using Yahoo at all as I get 1000+ msgs on that other server. Imagine if they aren’t removed when I pop it each time how that’ll pile up
Thank you for listening.

Not one sausage for any of you until I can download and view pictures on my Yahoo mail account! Not even one bite! When I get the no virus found message and the button to save or view the picture, the button apparently tries to download itself, the button, rather than the picture. So, just put it back down and get to work! >.

Hi,
Why there is no option of Kigdom of Nepal timezone (UCT +5.45) in Account settings? As there is no Nepali timezone in Account settings…it doesn’t show the same in Yahoo! mail too.
But in Yahoo! Calendar there is an option to chose Kingdom of Nepal timezone.
Please reply here urgently and tell me why.

All I miss in your perfect Mail:
1. RTL writing Support.
2. Opera Browser Support.
BTW,
There’s a bus in the Birthday system.
The “V” on alert isn’t saved and sometimes it doesn’t apply the event itself.
Thanks.

I like the Beta. It has improved a lot since I tried it a year ago. That’s why i’m NOT switching to Google. Woohoo!
However…why can’t you guys take some ideas from Google, such as TAGGING!
Now, that’s a FEATURE suggestion, not a policy suggestion such as making POP free. $20 a year is not much to be asking. So i may pay that soon.
But the FEATURES of “Tagging” and that other Google thing where you have your emails cascaded into “Conversations” as long as they hold the same subject line.
P.S. I’m using a MacBook Pro and the Beta works fine for me. Yahoooooooooooo!
P.P.S. If you ever get as politically active as Google, I’ll change to Hotmail.

WHERE IS THE BEST OCTOBERFEST IN N.M.?

Provist to everyone! Enjoy Oktoberfest anywhere it’s celebrated. And remember, don’t believe the stereotype that german people are mean. Not true. Just visit Germany to see for yourself. They are very happy people and just as hospitable.

One of my gripes (started recently) is that Yahoo email spam guard has started to push emails from a yahoo group into spam folder even when I am a member of that yahoo group.
Does not make sense to me. Does anyone know what’s up with that? This started about a month back.

I think Nordtroms lingerie ad that I am forced to see when I check my email is overly provocative (It’s essentially softcore porn). I do not like this add. I will switch to gmail if this ad or similar ads continue to bother me - Mark

Oktoberfest is indeed a nice place to go to experience the nice German Culture.
I was lucky to be in Munich for a business trip and was invited to the festival. I enjoyed the beer and the fun of singing, dancing and drinking
with all my German colleagues though I am Asian. It is one experience that I will not forget.
