Coming to Yahoo! Mail for the first time? Multiple email accounts dragging you down? Too many contacts in too many places? Have no fear, Trueswitch is here!
We want to make it easy to take all of your contacts and transfer them directly into your Yahoo! Contacts list. And it’s not just limited to your contacts, either. You can choose to transfer calendar items and emails from other email accounts. And did I mention it’s easy?!
Don’t believe me, then just take a look at this video (click here for a full screen version)…

Told you so. Check it out for yourself
For all of you that can’t stop whistling that tune from the video… that’s “Maybe Tomorrow” by Terry Bush the theme song from the TV series “The Littlest Hobo“

Back in February I posted about integrating Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Mail Beta. It’s a feature that allows you to have an instant message (aka chat) conversation right from within your mailbox. Back then, it was just a sneak peak. Now you should all have the ability to chat directly from within your Yahoo! Mail Beta mailbox.
What if I don’t feel like chatting?
I’ve been reading and listening to all of your comments, and a common question is, “How can I turn chat off?” The answer of course is, “Easily”. Here’s how…

From the top of the Mail Beta window you should see a status message next to your @yahoo.co.uk ID. Just click on the down arrow and then click on “Sign out of chat”. That’s it – you’re done. And, the next time you sign into mail, we’ll remember your status and you won’t be logged back into Chat until you set your status back to “Available”.
Happy emailing!

Le Grand Fromage – Yahoo Mail Just Got Bigger

To celebrate unlimited storage here in the Yahoo! offices we brought in some big (and I mean big) food stuffs. Who doesn’t like a cheese wedge that’s almost 5 feet tall? I’ve snapped some pics and uploaded to Flickr – our favorite photo sharing site. You can see all the pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ymail_uk_team/.
Free, unlimited storage means that Yahoo! Mail is the only email address that grows with you and lasts a lifetime. So now there’s no longer any excuse for letting your photos, files and other digital media collect dust in a cardboard box at the back of a cupboard somewhere.
Yep – and that’s me next to the giant sundae. And boy was that one whopper of a brain freeze.
Happy emailing!!

Where in the world?

It’s always nice to catch a glimpse of someone using Yahoo! Mail when I least expect it. This past weekend I was walking around terminal 3 at Heathrow airport, waiting (somewhat) patiently for my delayed flight and I happened to see someone checking their Yahoo! Mail from one of the Wi-fi hot-spots.
Now I know that the airport is not such a terribly unusual place to be checking email, but that got me to thinking all the places I’ve checked my Yahoo! Mail over the years. I’ve been in a couple of New York City parks with public wi-fi hotspots (I particularly like Bryant Park). One of my favourite places was a beach bungalow place on Ko Pha-Ngan an island in the south of Thailand.
I’d like to hear some fun/unusual places that you’ve checked your Yahoo! Mail. Leave a comment and let us all know.
Happy emailing.
